Dude, you come in here a day late and a dollar short. I told him to check out Horizon Zero Dawn, I play it daily in 4K and HDR.

He's looking for something special on the PRO, the mandate states no special features for the PRO.

Boost Mode (for PlayStation 4 Pro only)
PS4 Pro gets a new feature in this update called Boost Mode. This feature has been designed to provide better performance for select legacy titles that have not been patched to take advantage of the PS4 Pro’s faster CPU and its faster and double-sized GPU.
Holy **** this is big news Sony has done it again.

PS4 Pro just went from system that needed the game developers to reach it's full potential to a full suited gaming console

For the people on the fence about the PRO. I had my PS4 since 2013 it's 2017 now, the hardware is 4 years old these new games are pushing the vanilla ps4 to it's limit IMO. If you disagree with that well it's almost certain that the games releasing in later 2017 & 2018 will be pushing the ps4 vanilla to it's limit. 2013 tech can't keep up with 2018 developers tech.

People can post their "impressions" if they want to numbers are right there, the PRO is a 2x more powerful system. You don't need a 4k TV. The best feature isn't the picture(the games always looked good) IMO it's the frame rate. For every game I've played on the PRO compared to the vanilla PS4 It's absolutely obvious the game is running much smoother.(again the performance has been doubled)I wouldn't dream of going back to the vanilla.

That is more than enough for me to justify my purchase I'm very happy with my PRO I'd recommend it anyone who's spends a decent amount of time with their games.

Why in the hell would you come in here proclaiming this game will have no Pro support and you are selling your system before we even know anything for sure?

It has been stated numerous times that they will be talking about Pro information in a future stream. I doubt they mention it like that only for them to say "Ok, let's talk PS4 Pro information, there is none."

And the the system is still in its infancy. As we move forward I'm sure most games will have Pro enhancements.

You guys are making it very tempting to upgrade to pro, but I'll wait to see what Ramone says about the pro for 1080p.

Re: PS4 Pro Native 4K resolution running at 60 FPS with HDR support?

Well, so far my opinion on Boost Mode with '16 isn't as optimistic as I'd hoped. I tried the parks that were giving me the most trouble on the normal PS4, Skydome and Minute Maid. Both look like they're still running at 30 FPS on behind the plate cameras. I tried Wrigley too because there were occasional stadium conditions that caused the same effect there (I know this because I play so many games in varied conditions there), but it was much smoother this time - if not 60 FPS, then very close. If you need an example of what I'm talking about, my post a little ways up in this thread has a comparison that I did on the original PS4 - and unfortunately I have no reason to update those impressions.

Fielding cameras do sort of at least look like they're "juddering" less to me. It's especially noticeable in those low batting framerate stadiums like Skydome when the game switches cameras from batting to fielding - the contrast is immense in how smooth it is.

Regular close up "between-play scenes" (they're not cutscenes according to the devs) still look 30 at the most. I haven't gotten to see crazy stuff like walkoff celebrations yet.

Again, this has no bearing on '17. Not only is it an entirely different game from this one, it's also specifically enhanced on the Pro (in ways we'll find out soon). The videos we've gotten so far have looked amazingly smooth, but I don't think I've seen Skydome or MMP in them yet. That will tell me whether we're going to be dealing with the same issue for '17 or not.

I played on my Pro with boost mode turned on. I thought loading times were greatly improved...not sure about frame rate. It might have been better.

I am excited to hear about Pro enhancements in 17!

Agreed, the loading times are definitely quicker.

Man I notice a definite improvement with boost mode on! Foulballs and replays (including the logo swipe that always stuttered) are butter smooth now!

Only played for about 30 minutes with boost mode on, and only doing batting practice. It didn't seem to make much of a difference to be honest, as whenever a flyball was coming down ( camera moving from sky to the field ) it still had a lower frame rate.

Well, "HDR Mode" is confirmed for '17... but that shouldn't necessarily be a Pro enhancements as standard PS4's can run HDR now.

Still waiting for any sort of leak on Pro enhancements.

                          HDR!

The game already is looking great so how much better will it look with HDR enabled? I guess it will also depend on how good your 4K HDR TV is as well.

I can not wait to the graphics stream where I hope they will go in depth explaining HDR and also what kind of 4K they will be doing.

HDR can be used on Standard PS4? Is that just a visual upgrade? Will it affect performance (frame rate)?

Not performance. HDR involves color... but believe me, if you have it on and you have a good TV, it can change a game for you.

HDR can be used on the standard PS4. I don't believe it's a game changer like the other guy, but it's a subtle improvement in my opinion.

That being said, check your TV. Some TVs have higher input lag with HDR enabled. On my TV, HDR is not available on my HDMI 5, which provides 17 ms of input lag compared to 35 ms for the other inputs. Fine for adventure games and RPGs and stuff, but halving your input lag is going to matter in sports and fighting games where timing matters.
