I disagree with the person who said that the logo transitions are buttery smooth. They still have a lot of jutter and screen tearing.

I notice an overall improvement in frame rate for most cut scenes, but it's not dramatic. I think this game is CPU limited due to the crowds, and the CPU did not receive a large boost on the PS4 Pro.

The game already is looking great so how much better will it look with HDR enabled? I guess it will also depend on how good your 4K HDR TV is as well.

I can not wait to the graphics stream where I hope they will go in depth explaining HDR and also what kind of 4K they will be doing.

Seems like the HDR Intensity slider will factor in to how high of quality your TV's specs are. Very curious to see how big an impact it makes!

That being said, check your TV. Some TVs have higher input lag with HDR enabled. On my TV, HDR is not available on my HDMI 5, which provides 17 ms of input lag compared to 35 ms for the other inputs. Fine for adventure games and RPGs and stuff, but halving your input lag is going to matter in sports and fighting games where timing matters.
If you have the chance, play Horizon or The Last of Us with HDR off, and then turn it on... incredible.

What if I have a Pro and a really good Samsung tv that's NOT 4K..Will I see a difference?

It depends on the game. Some games will render internally at a higher resolution (often 1440p) and you will benefit from what is known as supersampling. At 1080p, you will still notice a crisper image and less "jaggies" due to aliasing.

But not all games do this.

I'm enjoying mlb show 16 with the new boost mode on. Definitely less frame rate drops.

Me as well. I think it definitely runs a little smoother and load times are very much improved.

I cannot wait for 17 being in presumably 4K or close, and HDR.

I can't believe some people are saying they don't see a difference. There's a pretty noticeable difference imo. Still some drops in the frame rate from time to time but it's much better than it is without Boost.

FWIW, during my normal course of play since enabling Boost Mode (i.e. my Cubs franchise, and not actively looking for stadiums and situations that caused low framerate), the game has been very smooth, more so than without Boost. I've had games in Anaheim, Arizona and Wrigley and the gameplay has been perfectly smooth. It's been very enjoyable.

                      Question for the tech guys...

So I just got a Samsung 4K UHd 6500 series. Now I just found out that the only hdmi port, port 1 has the uhd source and not the other two. If I get a ps pro, and keeping it plugged in the other ports not port 1, will I get the 4K resolution? Or every time I game I have put it into port 1. I hope this makes sense.

I just rather get the ps pro features but again not always have to switch my hdmi cords. Thanks for the help and hope this makes sense.

I have the same tv. Any of the ports will display 4K. Only port one will display HDR. Frustrating and weird design decision.

Is there a reason you can't just hook up the PS4 to port one? I use port one for my PS4 and two for my cable box.

Have 6500 series tv myself. Had I of known this when I purchased I would have passed on this tv. I'm looking for a HDMI switch/adapter that will allow HDR for both the Xbox S and the Pro to work off the one port.

Can someone explain to me the reason why SDS is being so tight-lipped about the functionality of their game with the PS4 Pro?

I'm not trying to be rude, I just simply don't understand the reasoning. I, personally, would have probably already upgraded my console from a launch day PS4 had they just provided some details on what the new system could do for their game.

I mean, I bought PS4 pretty much for The Show and being a first party developer, with the game being finalized and the console already being realeasd, you'd think that would be enough to break the silence on the matter.

As it stands, I've allocated those new PS4 funds for something else (trip to Chicago and Wrigley in April) because of their hushness on the matter. I'm pretty much taking no word to mean minimal incentives for 2017 with the game.

Is there any benefit to the secrecy here? Are they under a gag order or embargo from speaking about until a certain date, for some reason? Just trying to make sense of the whole thing. Thanks.

I'm genuinely curious myself. I'm waiting word before I pull the trigger on a PS4 Pro. I only have a 1080p tv right now but I am considering upgrading tvs as well. At the least I am going to upgrade to the Pro.

Because they want to wait to reveal it when they're ready. There could be a millions reasons why they're waiting. Just be patient.
