My thoughts on the cover:

It'll be Kris Bryant.

Jose Fernandez would be a nice tribute but as others have said, I think it might be a little depressing. MLBTS can honor him in other ways

I hope as a Cardinals fan that MLBTS shows us some love with a Cardinal player on a load screen or menu; I don't recall a Cardinal player ever in the menu or load screen in past versions dating back to MLBTS07

Compared to the Dodgers or the Giants they are.

I don't buy into the notion that the Angels are actually a Los Angeles team. They are Orange County and Riverside County through and through.

Yeah they are bigger than, say, the Brewers or the Royals by virtue of being in Southern California, but I wouldn't put them in the same category as the Yankees or Red Sox.

They certainly aren't an LA team, but they are definitely large market. They have a huge TV contract, and payroll has been in the top 5 for most of the last 10 years.
