    What I think: Historical experiences/leagues.

What I hope: Expanded and more accurate uniforms, plus custom uniforms.

Actually I hope for both, but putting junior on the cover sends a clear message that this version is paying homage and respect to the history of the game.

At the very least, I can see a "historical players only" mode in DD.

      1) Probably DD, RTTS and online related stuffs.
      2) Junior.
      3) A Show fully independent from last-gen consoles.
      4) Maybe the fact there's no ps3 Show will mean a bump in roster size for a playable Single A ball.

MLB The Show 17 embraces the past. Full classic teams, stadiums and rosters.
This. I hope along with that we get a stadium and jersey creator to create any classic team we want. Custom schedules (asking for a lot there) would help for the classic seasons as well.

I think we will see a bigger focus on Legends and possibly historical teams.
Definitely a bigger focus on Legend cards in DD.

I'm anticipating some minor improvements to Franchise, and most likely some kind of throwaway addition to RTTS like Perks, that they can slap on the box as some innovative new feature.

Graphical improvements exclusive to the Pro.

Hope I'm wrong, but i doubt it.

More focus on DD and Legends.
Some improvements to Franchise mode that people have been asking for.
              Graphical improvements for the Pro.

A focus on the historical aspect of baseball would really make my day. Few other sports have such a rich and storied history, I could lose myself for months replaying classic seasons with legendary players in vintage stadiums.

if they included classic rosters, classic stadiums and allowed me to play classic seasons, I would never see my family, friends, or the light of day ever again.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

A lower color quality with minimal presentation display for 60-80s games.

And b/w colors for older games.

The NBA 2K series handled this really well a few years back. I'd love to see these retro presentation elements in The Show. Imagine playing a 1950's Yankees vs. Giants World Series at the Polo Grounds and old Yankee Stadium in black-and-white, my video gaming life would be complete.

I'll believe it when i see it, and not a second before bud. Not sports title actively shuns its sports history more than MLB The Show. For all its great reliable gameplay, the game exists in a bubble.

To be fair, The Show does feature throwback unis, legendary DD players and classic stadiums, which for all we know is the extent of what MLB will allow.

And Griffey Jr. on the cover is a pretty solid tribute to baseball history, I'm sure MLB would prefer Harper or Kershaw or whoever is currently the most marketable superstar.

I think offline modes of Franchise and RTTS will get very little if any love this year. Which is a shame. Of courser this is just my opinion and nothing else.
Here's hoping that isn't the case. The NHL series from EA has been in steady decline since they pretty much pinned most of their focus on the online side of things.
