    I was a Xbox guy for a few years. When the next gen consoles came out I knew I had to switch because of The Show. I play most other of the sports games along with a couple others, but it was The Show that made me switch.

        I used to play MLB The Show with my sons on their PS3, but then I bought my PS4 specifically so I could play MLB The Show 14. They've both since bought their own PS4s because I got tired of them filling up my HD with their other games... plus one is now married and the other is in college, living on campus.

            I will be repurchasing the PS4 again just for the show, I'm a huge baseball fan!!! I do have a 4K set but I'm an Xbox guy, so I think I may just get the slim and bit the pro. I haven't seen any draw dropping differences to make me wanna purchase a pro.

                This thread has been enlightening, because I just assumed that it was meant people upgrading from the PS3 to the PS4. I hadn't even considered that people would buy a system for just one game, whether that was literally the only game they play, or that they do all of their other gaming on a MS system but love The Show. You get to see how different we all can be.
                Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

                    I'm an Xbox person by nature. I didn't get the PS4 just for The Show. I like the Uncharted and GOW franchises. I really enjoyed The Order too even though it got panned. It shows how much of a beast the PS4 is. The Show was a big part of the equation, though. I'm not really even that much of a baseball fan anymore but more than anything The Show is just a damn good game. It's been too deep for me at times but once I find my settings I'm good. I just found them on 16 and was gonna hold on 17; not anymore...

                        There are a few exclusives I like on playstation. I tend to like the PS exclusives more than xbox, but a big part of that is because most of my gaming is on PC. Since all future xbox "exclusives" will be on windows 10 as well now there is no reason for me to even consider getting an XboxOne. Most games will even have cross-platform multi-player, so I can play with my friends who have the xbone. The PlayStation just makes sense as a supplemental console, even without the Show.

                        Now if only I had time to play all of these theoretical games.

                            Count me as one. I originally bought a PS3 just for The Show and then ugraded to a PS4 a few years back just for The Show. I bought an NBA2k game once, but never really played it. I've never had any XBOX systems and don't want systems for other games. I will go all the way to a PS99 if they're still making The Show. It's all for The Show.

                                yep just for ps4 which i bought with MLB the show. i don't play the game i do MOM mode as i don't have a lot of time except late in the pm to play games as im a full time teaching tennis professional and high school tennis coach. i hope they made some upgrades in MOM this year loving all the new improvements which will make the mode a lot greater but really hoping for a big improvement in quick counts! so i don't have to make extreme slider changes to play the game to get realistic results. Ive lived in slider hell for too many years want to play MOM right out of the box this year! great job the game cant wait for franchise and commentary goodies!

                                    I don't own one.because of MLB the Show, however I do only purchase this baseball game because it's such a great sports game but I don't like the sport at all. Having said this Super Mega Baseball 2 will be getting a buy. Hard to pass up with that gameplay and customization. Just wish we had more damn football hockey games lol and golf 🖒

                                        If you asked me a couple of weeks ago whether or not I would be playing "MLB The Show 17", I likely would have said, no I am going to skip it this year. The same thing happens year after year. I get into the dog days of summer and I begin burning out on the the game having to play a game nearly every day and I am sure the burn out will continue in 2017. But there are too many cool feature changes this year to ignore (mainly the round bat hitting a round ball, but others as well). So I am in. I pre-ordered a copy last night. Oh and yes I bought a PS4 for MLB The Show. But I do have other games on it.

                                            I was a heavy MVP'05 modder/player and when that franchise ended I needed a new baseball game.

                                            My wife bought me a PS3 and MLB '07 and I haven't looked back. I upgraded to a PS4 a couple years ago when my original 'fat' PS3 passed on.

                                            I've had a few different games over the years, but The Show is the only constant.

                                            Uncharted (1-4) and The Last of Us (best non sports game ever IMO) are good too.

                                                I bought a PS3 for The Show and when the next gen consoles became available chose PS4 over XBox One because of The Show. I have since gotten an Xbox One as well, but will never abandon playstation because of The Show. As a sports game enthusiast it is by far and away the best game, every year, in my opinion.

                                                    Not only do I own a PS4 just for the Show, I'm going to upgrade to the PS4 Pro just for the Show 17. Though I have to admit, I'm intrigued by the VR stuff coming out (heard awesome things about Resudent Evil's last game being played in the headset) and wonder if future Show games will incorporate that as well. That could be sick.

                                                            I wouldn't say i bought a ps4 just for the show, but the show was a big factor in it.

                                                            I had all the show games on ps2 and psp, then I had an xbox 360 and played 2k baseball until they discontinued it, went a couple years with no baseball games and that sucked, then spring 2014 best buy had the show on sale for $40 and gamestop had a deal where you got 50% extra trade in credit if you traded in a old console towards a new one. so i got a new ps4 for like $200 (keep in mind this was only like 3 months after they came out), and the show was the only game i had other than the free ones for pretty much that whole summer.

                                                            i actually bought the show and then went and bought the ps4 lol. but i did it knowing i was going to play other games as they came out.
