It's not uncommon for player to not want to have their likeness used in the game or any game for that matter. I personally would love it but some players don't for whatever reason.

Yeah I mean obviously the real player will stand out versus the CAP's because they are real life people. Also, that stream for the CAP's seemed to be of poorer quality than the still shots of the side by side player comparison photos. Still though, the CAO's look MUCH better than previous years. The goofy mustaches don't help their cause though lol.

Not getting into this again, just read through what me and douggoud were saying

EDIT: one thing I will say is I understand that CAP are going to look different to the real players in the game, it's just that someone mentioned Ramone saying that these new created players will be tough to tell apart from the real players with face scans and everything
I just showed a side by side to show that's not the case

I hear you. Who is replacing Edwin Encarncion for the Jays this year? Glad it have him on my Tribe this year. Josh Donaldson is a favorite of mine (war eagle). I'm ready for the show 17.

                  Agreed.

I know that Danny Duffy has been a generic face for years (maybe forever?). Seeing as how he'll likely be the #1 started for the Royals this year, I'm really hoping they got a face scan of him for '17.

The generics do look WAY better this year from what we've seen. I don't know if I'd go as far as to say on par with the scanned faces yet, but they are already a significant upgrade from '16 - and if Russell says they're still not done adjusting them, maybe they'll turn out even better when they go gold. I do fully expect the talented CAP makers here at OS to be able get on par with the scanned faces though - amazing talent some of you guys have.

There's no replacing what Edwin could do but I think Morales will do a good job and with JD, Bautista and Tulo the core of the team is still there

Hopefully some of the players who never had face scans got improved because Derek Dietrich has never had a face scan and his face has never even resembled Dietrich he clearly has Jacob Turners face. Also Brad Hand has never had a face scan and he has always looked like some deformed alien. If Mike Trout has never had a face scan but we can still tell it's Mike Trout I'm sure they can improve some of the other players without face scans.

It looks scanned to me, just not that good of a scan, it's definitely not a generic face. And i don't think the artist started creating faces from scratch (like Kris Bryant last year) until last year.
CD guys brought it up a few years back (Ramone has also liked many posts pertaining to the subject). He doesn't have a scan the character artists have tried to do the best they can with his face, but you can tell it's not a scan. SCEA has also asked him to do some mo cap stuff a while back he declined. Maybe I shouldn't have said refused and should have used declined to participate. Like I've said before it's not mandatory for players to get their face scanned when SCEA shows up to do them. Who knows maybe he has one now, but in previous versions that isn't the case. Like Cory said it's not uncommon for a player to not want their likeness in a videogame or anything for that matter. I'm not going to argue or get into a back and forth discussion I'm just letting some people know what I know from what we've been told over the years.

That's very strange that Mile Trout wouldn't want to be part of one of the best MLB games currently around.

What I find even stranger is that he's the cover boy for a mobile MLB game and they used his likeness, can't tell if of was a face scan or if they just took a photo of him and put it in the in-game model. Regardless its just very strange that he doesn't want anything to do with The Show.

I don't know how true that is, i think the whole Mike Trout doesn't like SCEA has been blown out of proportion. Maybe he declined to be part of the game to the extent of cover boy status, or like Ortiz and Altuve.

But idk where you saw he refused to have his face scanned or anything more.

Sounds like SDS needs to wine and dine Mike Trout a little bit first and then do the deed. Go out for a nice dinner. Ask him about his day and really listen to what he has to say. Then toss him in the scanner.
