Much as I could get it cheaper at work or even my former workplace, that hat is just too alluring. Went with gamestop, traded in a few games I don't play anymore and paid it off today.

Still got the hat that you had to mail in a code or whatever with MLB 07 sitting on my wall, lol.

probably won't pre-order this year because I love the mom and pop shop hunt. I'd prefer to get it early haha

But i do have the Best Buy Gamers Unlocked and Amazon Prime so I do like discounts.

I want the gamestop hat so I'm going that route but that wont stop me from hunting early.
If I wind up with 2 copies, so be it. This game should be really close to gold if it isnt already.
My hunt will begin in earnest shortly after St. Paddy's Day.

Gamestop HOF edition. I never get special editions but this one is worth it. I still don't understand the digital edition stuff. I need to have the physical copy so then I can trade it in towards something else later.

I never trade games in but I need to feel the game in my hands to confirm to myself I actually own it. I cant get that feeling from digital. part of the reason I still buy some of my music on CDs

For those who missed out on the Amazon MVP pre-order and don't have BB's discount, Costco is also offering the MVP edition for pre-order at a discount for members: https://www.costco.com/MLB-The-Show-...100338910.html

Kind of concerned by the cover they use for the listing. I pre-ordered MVP mostly for the uni steelbook and probably wouldn't bother with it if it looks like this:

Hopefully that's just something temporary Costco is using. What kind of worries me is that Amazon has never included a shot of the steelbook in their MVP listing. Hopefully there weren't rights issues or something that got in the way of using Junior's uni as the steelbook.

Edit: Now that I'm looking closer, I see the remnants of the uni design behind the shot of Junior. Now I'm really concerned there's been a last second design change.

That's just the slip case for the steel book bro.

Great to hear. If it wasn't already obvious, this is my first The Show steelbook. lol I assume they've used a similar slip case in years past?

Yeah they have. I skipped the steelbook last year but in 15 it was a slip case that matched the cover of the regular version. The steelbook itself was a wood grain style case like a baseball bat. They are nice.

I preorder everything from Best Buy because I have GCU, but they ran a few Visa Checkout promos ($25 off $100) that made it an even better deal if you had another game you wanted to buy. But I'm impatient and like the digital goodies so I also preordered the digital deluxe during the spend $100, get $15 back PSN deal so I can preinstall, play at midnight, and get both sets of bonuses.

I collect Steelbooks so I'm selling the disc only to my cousin who doesn't care about any of the other stuff to recoup some money since I realize it's a bit insane to buy the same game twice.

Onlne straight from Sony... the Digital Deluxe version... 11K stubs for 16 and 11 for 17... that will bring me $96 Million in franchise funds... which will get my second year of my franchise off to a great start...

might be a dumb question, but if you preorder hall of fame edition from gamestop, how does one get the New Era hat? is it handed out upon pickup or do you have to order it online with a code of somesort?

Gotta say from the quick research I've done, Gamestop looks to be the best deal. Then probably digital deluxe. However, I don't want to have to delete multiple games off of my console to download this one. I can wait the extra 6-12 hours to get the physical copy of the game at the store. Plus, steelbook, hat and Griffey card. C'mon!
