Best stream ever. I really enjoyed when they were showing with the DEV widgets enabled the game play and animations between the Rockies and Red Sox. I am sure there will be the odd bug come release day, but this game is going to be great. How many days to go? 32?

I don't know how to explain it, but... this looks like a PC game!

Are we sure this is on a native PS4 and not on a Pro? I'm not actually questioning it, but rather I'm in shock over the visual fidelity this year's game is offering!

I'm going to also have to check Target Field from last year, but that grass looks really good to me right now. They must've been playing with it a bit, for sure.

Well....PS4 is based on x86 architecture and this is the first year the game has been developed solely for the PS4. So it's not really unusual that this year's could draw PC comparisons.

I think they mentioned previously that everything we're seeing in previews is from a devkit, which is pretty much a normal PS4 with the dev tools. Not Pro.

First part of the stream was mostly DD stuff I wasn't interested in, but there were some decent takeaways...


1. I need to get the tweekable dev option for slider testing. lol

2. Ball physics and new defensive animations are as advertised. Some amazing hits down the lines. Being able to line up your momentum into a throw from the OF is a big deal. I also haven't noticed if the suction-into-OF-wall animation is still there or if the catcher late swipe tags are still as prevalent. Nor did I notice the overdone OF shoestring catch animation. I wasn't paying extremely close attention either.

3. The numerals on the back of the jerseys did look to be a bit higher, but we'd really want to see the Yankees or Red Sox home unis without the names to be sure. This doesn't bother me as much as it bothers some of the uniform snobs in here though lol.

4. I think they just meant re-coloring when they refer to "grass tech" ??? I haven't noticed any change to grass texture, but the grass color does look brighter. Holding out hope for a bit more "grass tech" on the March 23rd graphical improvements deep dive stream.

5. The OSFM guys are going to love having 50 roster and 50 CAP save slots. I think it was 5 and 25 last year.

6. SOTS slide said it's 20% louder which will bring more immersion to TV rooms across the nation.

7. Cubs blue didn't look overly dark to me as a couple of others stated. Also have to factor in lighting of the dark editing screen vs daylight.


I feel like we've gotten a full cycle worth of development already before even seeing the changes to come in presentation and franchise mode. And hearing Ramone respond "either you came late to the stream or you're not good at paying attention" was LOL-worthy and worth a watch.

You cannot pick uniforms in Play Now Rated, and yes, game room games do count towards the profile.

I made a last minute post about Astros 1980 unis being incorrect Literally like a week ago. And they pretty much fixed all of my complaints. Not sure if they had already worked on it prior to my post or it was touched up last minute. But man, freaking props to whoever is doing the unis.

If anyone from art department is reading this, I will send you reference pics to every retro uni for next year, if you can assure me you'll at least look into them. There are so many small errors that don't seem like a big deal, but if they get touched up a bit, you'll see a big difference. But still wanted to say thanks. It really bothers me when some unis are so off.

Look at the stream schedule. The entire next stream is dedicated to presentation. Do you really think they went out and partnered with MLB Network just to show the scorebug with their logo, and cut out all the other presentation elements?

The reason you've seen next to nothing about the presentation to this point is because they're saving it all for next week. We've known this since they announced their stream schedule.
