You probably already know this, but that will never happen. I believe the answer is already in place; with their small team they will have to make small advances forward. It's a balancing act to hit everything they want to hit.

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode
And there are many who don't have a daughter or son or other commitments that prevent them from playing every game. I don't have time to go to all my hockey games but I still have season tickets. The point is there are options to play faster games. Heck there are options to play fewer games. But if you want a fully immersive baseball game...well..that means playing every game and every pitch. Why should the purist be penalized? Even SCEA says it wants a game that is as true to life as possible. I don't have time to play every game either but shouldn't I or others have that option?Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode
Loving the new updates to this year's franchise. As an over 40 gamer, I actually have tons of time (no kids) to play games, but because of the 162 game season, I do usually sim some games. I try to play at least one game of each series though.
The ability to jump around within games and get critical chances in others is a great addition. Nice work Devs. I know we same some presentation stuff, but I hope the final version includes more on screen stat stuff (more than they showed) so I get a chance to see stats while playing and not just when I want to deep dive into them (which I sometimes will do, but funner to play the game than wade into menus and spend time looking at stats).
As far as quirks, I think they are also a nice idea. But I would rather have it happen under the hood as opposed to I have to toggle them on. If a guy is a great late inning hitter, just give his stats the boost without me having to ask for it. Same for the other quirks. I don't think I like the idea of a guy only being great at something if I toggle it, as opposed to how he is IRL. But drafting guys with specific quirks will be very interesting I think. Nice work.Last edited by WhiteM5; 03-07-2017, 11:12 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode
I have to admit that I'm pretty stoked about the new additions to franchise mode. Each year I try so hard to complete a 162 game franchise, and just can never get it done. Typically I get about 100 to 120 games in. With everything going on with life stuff, sometimes I only have about 20 or 30 minutes of free time. With these new additions there will be no excuses to get all 162 in this year!Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode
Normally spend half my time between Offline Franchise and Diamond Dynasty. A bit underwhelmed with franchise improvement advertised thus far, all i'm really looking for is immersion factor. Tracking such as career awards, manager wins, and more historical data would go a long way IMO. The new quirks system I read a bit about is intriguing, unfortunately I did not find anything on if it would be dynamic for all players, including in-game created prospects similar to badges for NBA2K. I'm sure we will learn more on Thursday.
That being said, it will be the great game that I look forward to all year with enough slight improvements to make it noticeably better, whether in the menus or on the field.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Bucks | Milwaukee BrewersComment

Not in real time, not with fully show foul balls, not with all catcher return throws to pitcher, not fully shown home runs, etc. You don't get all of that even on broadcast.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 17 Video - Franchise Mode
Last week was presentation week, I saw something called hybrid. I hoped that meant taking the place their flawed broadcast option, and the new broadcast is fully continuous or at least much closer to it. However, it seems like hybrid presentation has been in for the past year or two, so I don't count on anything like that.. But! It's a sensible balance, you already have Fast Play, so Hybrid, then an untouched presentation when you choose broadcast.
I just hope it's still not similar to what it's been lately. '10/11 was the golden age for SOTS in this game, with them bringing all that kind of stuff back and then renewing the entire presentation package it wouldn't make sense to still be rushing us through the stuff with no other recourse.
Anyway, I only came here to say, I'm a vet/loyalist of franchise mode like most everyone else here, and it confuses me why they don't take the step of including a Fantasy Baseball sidegame for the season modes like franchise. I wish a system like that were there, Fantasy Baseball should be easy to add to and make all of us happy. Seems like it would be easier and just as fun for us to take part in as Diamond Dynasty.
also - Diamond dynasty, I expect to get good rewards for the progress I'll make in franchise but I don't expect to play it. However, I would appreciate it if I could send a juggernaut team representing myself online for DD players to take a shot against. That would slowly get me interested in the mode and check on the progress of the club I pull together.Last edited by @legendm0de; 03-08-2017, 01:50 PM.Red LegendComment
