Re: Manage only mode
I'm a huge manage mode only fan but I'm trying to find anything different from 17 compared to The Show 16. I'm on the fence of getting The Show 17 so could anybody let me know if there is a significant changes in the MOM games? Thanks.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: Manage only mode
Really not allot of changes form last year. Graphics, Ball physics alone would be a reason to upgrade. Pickoff moves are now allot more prevalent also. once we zero in on the sliders and hopefully patch a few things like Monster Homeruns I would definitely say this is a major upgrade over 16Comment

Re: Manage only mode
Was mentioned earlier in the thread and it was a big MoM problem back in 2015, was fixed in 2016 but now it is visually fixed in 2017 and that is when you call for a sacrifice bunt. In 2015 the batter would attempt to lay down the bunt no matter how far the pitch was outside of the strike zone. In 2016 they fixed it where strikes would no long be called on pitches outside of the strike zone but the animations still made it look like the batter was trying to bunt. This has all been fixed in 2017. Now the animations match the batter not trying to lay down the bunt. I should say though that this only applies to sacrifice bunts. If you call for a "bunt for hit" and the pitcher throws the ball outside of the strike zone, the batter will not pull back. You will have a strike called against you. But I am fine with this plus I find it is harder to execute "Bunt for hits" this year.Last edited by My993C2; 04-07-2017, 11:52 AM.Comment

Re: Manage only mode
No problems with importing Season or Franchise files from 2016 just as long as you are okay with players no longer in the MLBPA being turned into random players. Their positions, skill attributes and jersey numbers are carried over but they will have new names and new random appearances. So it's best to keep note of the players position and jersey numbers to identify who is who.Comment

Re: "Manage only mode" (Where is this gameplay option???)
A couple of questions:
Playing MLB Show 2017... am I just blind... exactly *where* is the "manage only mode" within the game? I've seen/tried "Quick Manage"... so that's not what I'm referring to, since, at least with my settings, in "Quick Manage" mode - I sure don't see any of the actual game going on (players playing on the field etc.). Is this a setting perhaps in Options/User Settings that I need to change? I'd love to play this mode, where basically I'd be actively *managing* my team while playing games (like a manager managing from the dugout in essence, not meaning from that camera view - versus doing all of the pitching, batting, fielding aspects of the game myself). Where can I find this "manage only mode" within the game? (Hopefully able to use it for playing Franchise Mode games.) Help! Anyone know???
Of lesser importance, but still curious - Are we awarded *any* XPs at all for completing games when using "Quick Manage" mode, or when using "manage only mode" (wherever that is, since I still can't seem to find it to do it, but would like to)?
Many thanks in advance for your time and info/help, very much appreciated.
Happy gaming!

Re: Manage only mode
I played my first MoM game in my franchise last night. I like having the most realistic sim experience.
Balt 3 7 1
Cle 4 7 0
I'm fine with the game result. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. I am NOT wanting to mess with sliders because it makes me a little crazy doing that but I'll try more games and see how it goes.
I guess my question: is messing with sliders in this mode absolutely necessary?JUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: Manage only mode
It really depends on how realistic of gameplay you are looking for. No one does a better job at research then Nomo. He does a CPU CPU slider set that tests the game over a period of 75 matches. His sliders will produce a true sim experience in my opinion. He is still testing, but the ones posted are almost spot on for Manage only mode. Try them out. Good to see some more MOM playersJUUUUUUUST A BIT OUTSIDEComment

Re: Manage only mode
Just wondering how everybody's Mom experince is going? Are sliders helping?I feel like personally with slider adjustments the game plays great.Yes the Wild Pitches are a problem and also for me QC is unplayable because of early starter removal, but regular plays really good and hopefully a patch can address the QC and wild pitch issues.
