Nope. Manage-Only mode is specific to the continuous modes - Franchise, Season, and Playoffs. It's chosen from the Launch Pad which only appears in those modes.

You can do quick manage in Play Nows (if you select it from the in-game pause menu), but that's more of a sim engine thing than true on-the-field MoM.

Did they added MoM to the Playoff mode? Not in reference to our Franchises or Seasons going into October and playoff games being on the calendar. No I am asking about the Playoff mode? I never bothered looking this year because in past years it was not available and this year I immediately jumping into my Season mode and have not played anything other than my MoM games and CPU vs CPU games for all the other teams in the league. It would be cool if MoM was available in the Playoff mode.

I'm not sure if they added it or it was already in, but yes - as I said MoM is selectable from the launch pad, and that launch pad screen appears in those three modes. Even the standalone Postseason mode gets the Launch Pad, and can therefore be played in Manage Mode.

Edit: Went back to look at '16 since I still have it installed - you could Manage Mode in standalone postseason there as well.

Just a question Tessl.When you play do you call for steals or hit and runs?Steals? pitch locations?Or do you just play now and thats it?Also are you on default sliders?I ask because i'm experincing results that i feel like are pretty good with manage only mode

Have a friend who has no complaints about the scores. His Padres pitcher, Pedromo, got lit up for 5 runs in the first inning today, so he tells me, final score 8-6. He says he sees all kinds of scores.

I'm seeing alot of variety in scores in my games as well

Offense was never a problem. Game is playing fine. Sliders help adjust the game. No game ever in any sport plays 100% realistic without sliders. I f your waiting on that then it simply will not happen. A balanced slider set implemented with player skills makes MOM the most realistic sim experience in any of the sport games. If you are just going to set back and wait for this perfect game to develop with default sliders it isn't going to happen ever,

I will report back after i do later today,at work right now.But without slider adjustments i wouldn't hold out much hope of that.

I'm currently on a 27 consecutive inning scoreless streak post patch 1.4 - it would entertain me more if it would move closer to reality instead of farther away.

My question is why have they done this to the game? Manage mode is the game at its most basic level - CPU vs CPU. No user input. Do they want people who joystick the game to have an advantage over the CPU opponent? Is it deliberate or are they unable to get the game to play realistically? Is it going to be patched or is this the final version for '17?

The developers of the show do a better job of promoting the game than any other sports game on the market. Once the game is released they mostly disappear and emerge again to promote next year's version.

Thats simply not true at all. They continually listen and respond to us. 6 patches in over a month. how is that burying your head in the sand?

I have not played a MoM game yet with the latest 1.06 release because it's morning, I am at work and well you know the rest of the routine. Nevertheless about 10 days ago, I stopped using my own slider settings in favor of using nomo17k's latest recommendations and for the most part offense in my games is up. Not radically up, but up nonetheless. In fact I clubbed out 8 runs against the Cubs last night in my MoM game trashing them 8-0 (I got lucky though as the CPU manager sat out most of the Cubbies big hitters in the series opener, I expect a different game tonight). The game presently does not hate me. But I am sure that will change.

Hey guys just wondering how everybody plays the game this year?

Here's how i play when hitting i usually just hit play now or the equivalent of swing away.When men are on i will call steals,bunts,hit and run.

When pitching i will usually go with pitch aggressive,pitch to batter or pitch around.In some instances i will call for pitch placement aka High,Low,inside,outside.Usually wont set the defense but on occassion i will.I will also call pitchouts pickoffs and the such.

Just wondering how you guys play it?Do you just go play now and make subs?Or some combination of what i said?

I'm also curious because alot of are results are varied,which could be just from sliders not sure.

Played one game on default 1.6. 3-0 game which was 1-0 in the 9th until a ball curved 100 feet and hit the foul pole. Other team was shutout on 4 hits and never got a runner past second base. If anything regarding gameplay was changed it wasn't noticeable.

The choices are pick one of 50 slider sets on the slider forum, figure out my own slider set or revert to the Show 16 which actually didn't play so bad on default once they finally finished with patches.

Visually the Show 17 is stunning. It's a shame gameplay is what it is.

I agree with sliders the game plays very well Problem is and correct me if i'm wrong Tessel expects the game to play to his liking with no slider adjustment.

Yes I believe you are correct. I wish no one had to adjust sliders as well. Unfortunately that is not our reality
