I think this about the base rating being an average makes the most sense on why a negative rating would exist. I would love for someone to confirm if this is the way the game does it. At first I thought a positive rating with a negative rating along with the overall rating made no sense because 3 ratings was silly but if it's the way you said it works for me.

Being that the CPU does not take quirks into consideration for game management ill pretty much be ignoring quirks due to it giving me an unfair advantage in franchise. I love the idea but I just wish the CPU would use this information in game.

there is a really good google doc spreadsheet, this guy really lays it out there and explains it all
40 quirks, whether its for pitcher, batter or both

Most Quirks are Attributes Relative, I don't know how u edit Night time Player. The good thing is Quirks like Night time or Day time Player are with Drafted Players.

From the front end, go to a players player card and hit L1 or R1 a few times. You'll get the explanations of each quirk there too.

In-game, press left/right on the D-Pad. You'll only get the quirk name here, no description.

Does anyone know, and maybe it's a dumb question, but do quirks get added or taken away as players either gain abilities or as their ratings decreasing over time?

certainly the ones that are attribute based can come and go but ones like pick off artist are probably hard locked

I don't know how long the Catcher Pop Time quirk has been in the game, I only know it's not one of the original from the first year, but does anyone know if it's like the pickoff quirk, not attribute related? Roberto Perez has it despite only having a 67 arm strength.

also, Perez is vastly overrated this year btw. Overall 84? I don't think so haha
