also, Perez is vastly overrated this year btw. Overall 84? I don't think so haha
From what I can tell it is not attribute related, and is instead hard wired into a player. Example: Contreras on the Cubs has pop time quirk and has almost no fielding attributes in the 90’s. I have a back up catcher who has every firleding attribute at least an 88 (can’t hit though) and has yet to develop the quick pop quirk

What happened to player quirks this year?
if I set a guy to 99 contact or 99 speed or 99 power shouldn't he receive a quirk if he didn't already have it?
am I missing something or am I likely experiencing a glitch because I'm not seeing a quirk added.
      Thanks!

They removed all passing quirks from the game (i.e. speedster, bunt master, bomber, hitting machine, unbreakable, walker, cannon, sniper, knee buckler, cheesy, illusionist, sinkerballer… etc).

They wanted to just stick with quirks that do something in-game (i.e. active quirks like first pitch hitter, unfazed, outlier, day player, etc.)

Forget what stream they talked about it, but it’s in one of them.

This feels like one of those changes just for the sake of change. I personally really like the passive quirks. I like to look at the quirks before each AB and it was nice to see, for example, oh this guys a “walker” I’m probably going to have to throw him strikes or this pitcher is “control artist” I’m probably going to have to swing the bat.

Yes. No tangible reason to actually remove this and actually gave players a feeling of differentiation
