Wish I could post a picture of the 2016 page, but the Cardinals official uniform book lists the hats with the uniforms and explains when they are worn. If the team itself can detail when they are worn, should be a footnote in the style guide

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
The Cardinals blue caps are not in the game because they aren't paired with any jersey and it's almost like they're floating in purgatory with no uniform to match up with because by default the road uniform is paired with the red cap. It's actually correctly done although it's frustrating to us. The solution is actually simple though but they just didn't do it and it would be what they did with the Indians. The Indians have the navy alt twice, one as a home alt and one as a road alt, but each one is paired with a different cap. The solution for the Cardinals would be to have the road jersey twice and call the second one "road alternate" and that one would have the navy blue cap with it. Hopefully they do this next year.
If not they could always have it separate and unpaired just like the stars and stripes caps are but I guess they didn't think of that yet.Last edited by SilverBullet1929; 05-01-2017, 04:47 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
Also, is there a way we can get out actual spring training uniforms in the game? The ones in there now are batting practice unis and they are absolutely brutal. In real life the spring training home unis are a simple, solid blue jersey with a white D, white numbers, white letters and white pants with a blue stripe.. Also in real life the spring training road unis are all blue with an orange D, orange letters and orange numbers and gray pants with a blue stripe.Comment

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
Here's a picture of the Cardinals 2014/2015/2016 uniforms from the book I posted a link to earlier (which is an OFFICIAL publication of the Cardinals). 2015 is presented as a separate uniform due to the OT patch in memory of Oscar Tavaras.
If you look at 2014 and 2016, those are the five uniform combinations the team currently wears. The hats, jerseys and pants are the same in both years (and the same in 2017). The hats have remained constant in this arrangement since 2013.
And the Cardinals themselves explain WHEN each hat is worn. Really can't make it much simpler than that. C'mon Sony, get this right next year.Attached FilesComment

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
The traditional red hat with white STL was not introduced until the home games of the 1964 World Series (the book makes clear that introducing new uniform elements for World Series games was a relatively common practice, at least through 1964). This hat became the only hat worn from 1965-1991, until the Cards brought back the navy blue hat for road games to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 1992.Comment

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
I've followed this thread and can't remember is someone already mentioned that the Cardinals road blue hats are in the game sort of. The fans are wearing them. Also couldn't the bp hat just be patched to so it matches the Sunday alternate for one of those versions in game.Comment

I really wish they would get the red color right for teams like the Angels, Nats, etc. I feel like the new lighting techniques, coupled with HDR, has completely messed them up. The Angels red alts look freakin' burgundy at night games. They looked just fine in '16, and even then, that's a stretch. They need to be a brighter shade of red. Not more saturated, just brighter. Here's an image of Garrett Richards; the red just pops, compared to the game where it looks washed out and dull. I've noticed the Pirates black jerseys had the same "dull" look, too. Also, the Angels' belts need to be red. They haven't been black since the 2013 season (as far as I know).
Also, the Mariners emerald unis are way too dark. They should just use the teal custom color and it would improve things. Here's King Felix.
What I've said also applies for uniform accents too; things like hats, piping, lettering, outlines on letters, etc.

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
Is there a thread dedicated to equipment updates for certain players who have switched brands/styles?
For instance, here are some things I've noticed off the top of my head:
- Chris Archer wears Under Armour cleats and a Wilson glove in the game (which is what he wore last year); now Adidas for both in real life.
- Justin Turner wears Nike cleats (which are 100% white for some reason) in the game; now wears mostly blue Adidas cleats.
- Joc Pederson wears UA cleats/batting gloves in the game; now wears Nike for both.
- Andrew Toles wears New Balance cleats last year... Now Adidas.
All four of these players wore the in-game brands last year but have switched in 2017. I've seen people mention gear modifications for the purposes of OSFM rosters, but not for suggesting to the dev team.
Anyone know if The Show has updated this type of stuff in the past in live roster updates?
(And yes, I know, this is nitpicky and only concerns brands that athletes wear, which many people do not care about. But I'm a stickler for accuracy and that's why this uniform thread exists...)Comment

I shared detailed comparison shots with Ramone on Twitter awhile back and he told me 'its subjective' so, yay for that explanation. This has been an issue for years and it never seems to be addressed. They said they 'fixed' jerseys during the live streams this year, but as you can tell red jerseys in the game largely suck. Black jerseys look faded. Blue jerseys are too blue. Etc.

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
I can't see the dev team changing equipment brands when they don't change other more "serious" uniform issues. I wouldn't expect those things to change until next year. In a sense those things aren't wrong, just outdated.Comment

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
Yeah, that's a load of horse**** if I've ever heard one. There's no way it's subjective when most people here would agree the red jerseys look like ***. Ramone is a good guy for the most part, but a horrible community manager.

I can't believe that's how they go about this. I wish they'd just say "ok these are incorrect color tones but they cannot and will not be corrected this year and will be addressed for next year's game." I'd appreciate that honesty instead of tiptoeing around the subject.Comment

Re: Official 2017 uniform errors and omissions thread
When I look at those Nationals jerseys, it makes me think that the textures and the lighting make the colors dull. Look at the undershirt and the jersey in the game. They should be the same hue as the ones in real life. The colors may be right when they put the values into the game, but the code or lighting and texture throw them off.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks
