I've done both I've only picked a team because they had a weakness at a position and it would help me reach the Show faster. I actually did that a couple weeks ago in 16 I created a Catcher for the Marlins and also did another one for the Padres and both got to the show pretty quickly just by simming games. Though my Padres catcher eventually got benched because I sucked

Sometimes I'd enter the draft and let a random team pick me I'd play for any team except the Rays, and the A's their stadiums are both just awful... but I always got bummed out when the team that picked me had a better player at my position.

Now that the manager tells us we can change positions I guess I can live with whoever picks me. At least we have agents now maybe we can request a trade like NBA 2k to our favorite team?

First part makes sense. But what if I create a CF because I want play CF, and get drafted by the Angels. Sure I could change pos. but I create a position so I can play that position. Are they going to start me over Trout?

Not too happy about this change if it is indeed the case, I have done both , having said that if you pick your team what difference does it make you still get the narrative and decisions to make about your path. I hope there still is an option for this part of RTTS.

I actually never even knew you could pick your team.

Now that you said that, expect a new screen at the start of RTTS next year that makes that option easier to find.

I was planning on just waiting for the first OSFM rosters to drop before buying this year. I was just going to play Horizon and FIFA as my sports game until then, but FIFA has just been playing AWFUL, lately and I'm about ready to push it to the side. My question is, when you play Pave Your Path, will you be able to use updated rosters (OSFM when released) or do you always have to start with the stock Show roster? The answer to that may make me buy earlier. Anyone know?

I don't know the answer but just wanted to say that if you like open world style games that Horizon: Zero Dawn is FANTASTIC.

Yeah, I'm playing that, now. I've put in about 40 hours on it and I'm at 48% completion. Loving it!

Forced to go the draft route doesn't bother me since every single time I've picked a team, I've been traded before I got to "The Show" anyway, and it hurts knowing your favorite team doesn't want you

cant one also play rtts using an existing player? maybe thats still an option, and pave your path is the only one where you cant decide who to play for.

In one of the narratives there was an option with your advisor to be drafted by your favorite team.Maybe this is the choice you might have to choose to get to play for your team ??

Shoot, you could do that with multiple players if you wanted to try different positions. Just keep the saves on the hard drive and port them over if you ever need a new player at a different position.


The downside of this option is that the you would have the '16 ending rosters and not the '17 rosters in RTTS, and you would always be starting in 2016.

The downside of this option is that the you would have the '16 ending rosters and not the '17 rosters in RTTS, and you would always be starting in 2016.

If that is the only downside.....then it’s not a bad workaround for those that want to pick there team. There are some outstanding updated OSFM rosters with all the off season moves and free agency/trades so you are playing practically with updated rosters.

Late to the party but If I'm going to be grinding it out in a video game I want it to be favorable, meaning as the user I want to pick which team drafts my player.

In regards to the workaround do you still get the cut scenes if you carry over??
