Played a few carried-over RTTS games thus far, but I am enjoying the game. I have noticed, again I'm not sure if this is a product of the RTTS being carried over from 16, but it looks like the pitch-count glitch still exists pertaining to quick counts not adding to the pitchers pitch count. Can anyone that has started a new RTTS confirm?

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
Does anyone else agree?
So the show is easily my favorite sports game and so many of the features announced made this sound like the best iteration yet. Let me preface by saying I've had the game since Saturday. In that time, I have seen zero "cat and mouse" gameplay, stealing bases against the AI is nearly the same as 16. Throws are smoother but I don't see guys jogging nor do I see fielders appropriately timing throws. Lastly, while there is more hit variety, fielders still run down most balls. The game just feels too much like 16. Does anyone else notice anything different?
My thoughts are still formulating as I want to really sink into all the modes, and give it a fair and thorough impression/review. I want to let the new car smell sink in more and then really give it a clear assessment without the thrill.
Because right now? It's incredible and I will just gush like a giant fanboy LOL!!!
I need to play many games, modes and take it all in.
Early impressions though?
GOAT sports game.......and it's not even close right now. They seriously slayed it this year.

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
- Hit variety is a big bonus. Can't stop to smile everytime i see a base hit after a blooper.
- Some fielding error here and there, which is good. There's no routine play in baseball. I'm still on the fence with double plays: beautiful to watch but too many gold glove plays.
- Better graphic ( faces, player models ), more vibrant colours and better lighting.
- Too many monster HR's, they should reduce the power on hitting a little bit.
- PCI seems to be a lot bigger than MLB 16. Maybe i'm missing something ? Look at the two screenshots.
Chase Utley has 36 contact vs L and still have a huge PCI. I know Clayton has a low K/9 but it's like contact rating doesn't matter at all. All Star level.

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I'm enjoying the game tremendously! The new and added fielding animations make the game look and feel more realistic.
One small recommendation is for them to add the "New" Retro '17 hitting Camera angle to regular modes. The Retro cam for fielding is amazing!"The older I get, the faster I was!"

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
OK - after playing the full game after install, I am relieved that the choppy frame rate and lag are pretty much non-existent. Although, cannot access HDR mode...is that a PS Pro or TV thing? (HELP PLS) Very happy with the hit variety, fielding animations, etc. This is the best game yet. Hitting rivals 14 (the one with A-Gonz on the cover). you feel the pull or push of the bat on ball. Scanned over a few faces and am VERY happy to see some players make it in to the game that just looked horrid last year. As a met fan, was blown away with Matz, Gsellman, Conforto, Plawecki... Great job SDS and Sony for putting out another excellent baseball game.Last edited by b22gamer; 03-28-2017, 12:03 PM.Comment

re: MLB The Show 17 Impressions
I have pitch speeds at 10, and I'm disappointed in the sound the ball makes when it reaches the plate. It barely cracks the catcher mitt and doesn't feel like it's coming in at 90mph. It seems less intense than '16, though only slightly. It wouldn't be hard to fix the catcher part. Just make the ball hitting the catcher's mitt sound more authentic.Comment
