Pitching against cpu on HOF default is terrible everything they hit dawn near a hr location dont matter or good release timing on the other hand i always popping out or going foul when I hit or right at someone. Im going to just sim pitching and hit only its that bad. Meter pitching.

You must be throwing too many strikes, or pitching with some sort of obvious pattern than they are picking up on. My pitching fluctuates between HOF + and Legend, and there are some games I get shelled, but others where I give up 0-2 runs.

The only thing I wish I could get ironed out is K's. On Veteran Vet+ I get 10+ k's every game. On HOF+ I am lucky if I get 5. Wish I could find a happy medium.

The very feature that attracted me to this game (Sounds of the Show) is going through some issues right now. Until that issue is resolved I can't fully invest my time in the game like i want to.

As my pitching difficulty creeps into the HOF+ area with Dynamic Difficulty, my least favorite aspect of the Show's pitching engine creeps up yet again:

I can hit the corners pretty consistently, but even the dumpiest CPU hitter will rattle off foul ball after foul ball. If I try to throw something off the plate, they don't chase, even if it's juuuust outside. Eventually, I often I get lucky. However, if my pitcher's confidence is in the middle of the bar or lower, I have no chance. I have so, so many 7-10 pitch ABs this way.

Went into a Play Now game, DET v BAL, so AL home team...and there was no DH when setting the lineups.....this is the first time I have noticed this....I thought there maybe was a setting that I toggled for no DH, but nothing....anyone else notice this? So many bugs..............

I agree, very disappointed myself. I hate the hiccup thay occurs as a player that hits a homerun is rounding second base. I always blink for a second when I know it's about to happen, so I miss it. It really takes away from the immersion.

I'm surprised not many people are talking about this? I know it's been common for years, but still, it sticks out like a sore thumb, it really does. I'd rather have toned down graphics to just make it run smoother...

Wish we could lock in our favorite stadium broadcast camera for online play. It seems i am always being the away team in online play which negates me from using my preferred stadium broadcast camera. The default behind the pitcher selections are not that great besides outfield where you can see the 2nd basemen runners.

I noticed my fielders at times will not move and it allows base hits. At first i thought it was my controller but i see others reporting about it. It happens at the worst times like a handicap forcefield. I have blown a number of games to the cpu because of it. I hope they fix this in a patch.

Anyone else noticed that some ballparks have trolls as bat/ball boys?

I mean these dudes look like they have the body of a child but the head size and facial features of a full grown man.

Never gave my impression on the game. Wanted to wait and get a good feel on the game before I posted my impression. To me this year is a different step by SDS. Usually they take small cautious steps. This year they took large aggressive steps. I applaud them for that. Unfortunately that lead to more bugs and balancing issues than normal years. That's the trade off.


Gameplay -

This years gameplay is a strong improvement over last year. The ball physics are seen in every hit, while sometimes overdone. I believe it to be a huge additon. It is out rivaled imo by the redone fielding animations. No more frustration trying to throw out runners at first. The fielders are responsive and always pick the right animation. The game seems a bit shifted towards offense, sliders can help fix that, unfortunately sliders can't be used online. Hopefully they tweaked hard hit balls with the next patch.


Presentation -

I was wary of the additon of the new announcers, but they are really well done. Reynolds nails the roll, his voice is unique and he is engaging. The other new color guy (forget his name), is somewhat forgettable lol. He is somewhat a mix of the past color guys, but since Reynolds has been added it is much more acceptable.


Franchise -

Haven't played much, and probably won't. It isn't a secret their additions to the mode have been lacking the past few years.


Rtts -

The addition of pave your path has honestly been the best thing this series has done in years. It is everything I wanted and expected. I don't need voice acting that makes my guy seem like an ***. Just more things that immerse myself in my rtts guys story. They can build off of this for years to come. While there are some quirks to it, these can be ironed out. The most is very refreshing this year. Feels like Madden 2008 superstar mode with great gameplay.


#1 Issue with Mlb 17 The Show

The removal of profile association from RTTS.

What it means? If I have different Rtts saves, I have to set a new default profile each time I load a different save bc I have different settings for each save. Before I could associate each profile with a save. It would be like if each time you loaded your madden cfm you had to change the diffculty from pro to all madden. Very annoying and a huge oversight, that I've been told by Adam_sds won't get patched this year




Overall

A better game than last year but with more bugs, hopefully future patches will cover a lot of these bugs.

Wish theyd add pre existing injuries similar to 2k. I'd like to have had price and Carson smith injured and not single A like osfm had and manually edit some teams to get major league players accurate.

I've been having a lot of fun so far. The OSFM rosters have been great.

One issue I've noticed is that I still seem to have the occasional issue where baserunners just hold up for whatever reason. Not sure if it's intentional if a guy has poor baserunning ratings or what.

I had Jett Bandy at first, and Arcia at second. I get a shot into the gap in right center, and send Arcia home, and as soon as it's in the gap (Bandy is maybe 1/3 of the way to 2nd) I send him home as well.

I notice that he gets to 2nd base, slows down and looks to the outfield, and then I'm mashing the "home" button and it still shows "home" as his destination, but he delays, and then finally starts moving again. By that time the fielder has the ball and is turning to throw it in, so with his lack of speed I end up holding him at 3rd and having to settle for one run instead of two on a double. Odd, and a little frustrating.
