    MLB The Show 17 Impressions

There is a TEAM RANKINGS in the franchise menu. You have to scroll/tab to the right to see it.

There you will find the rankings for various stats.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The more than 1000 new animations are a big change as well, much more realistic. Game itself plays much smoother too.

Then the graphics : again a big upgrade. The lighting is much improved (again) and makes the stadiums look so much better.
      Colors are more vivid now.

The commentary, also a big improvement.

Everyone has his/her own opinion of course and that is fine. But i personally do not understand how people can say that it is not much better than 16, or that 16 with patches is a better game.
I really do not understand, but that is just my opinion.

I must admit that i do not play online, i only do play now games and season mode so perhaps that is why we have such different opinions.
I agree the ball physics are great. There are 2 types of hits that I could see needing a bit or work though. Hard line drives to center and the gaps seem to hang up forever sometimes. I get that is because of backspin and things, but they seem to hang up an extended amount of time. The one that is not realistic are fly balls down the line. I have crushed multiple balls that started fair and ended up 50 feet foul. I don't feel these are realistic physics. Other than those 2 types, physics are awesome and those 2 things by no means ruin the ball physics, just 2 things that could be improved on either in a patch or next year.

There's just something to be said about how sweet it is to see so many different kinds of hits. Like I just had a slightly to the left back up the center hit and the ball hooked a bit just past 2nd base making the center fielder take an angle to the ball.

And then there's the no doubt HR animations for homers that aren't sky high. But more line shots that pass maybe five feet over the wall. Looked so natural it couled've just been some default HR animation anyone could have rather than the Bryce Harper one.

I'm so thoroughly enjoying the game this year.

With SunTrust Park...I cannot see the pitcher barely at all before the lights turn on. It's like the death reaper is out there trying to pitch and it's coming from the shadows.

I like that we can adjust the length of the jersey sleeves now. I wish we could do the same for the pants. I still want to be able to choose what socks I want, but adjust the pants length too. I'm trying to recreate this look and all I really need is the pants to be more accurate.

Totally agree, we need more stirrup options.

What's the command to see hot/cold zones when you're at bat? It doesn't appear anymore for any batter for me... I'm on dynamic difficulty(between rookie and veteran) and zone hitting. Any idea welcome!

Really enjoying my time with The Show 17, but I still find the framerate in cutscenes during games a massive disappointment. It really does take me out of the experience. It seems to be better than 16, but not by much....

Shame because the presentation upgrade this year is great.

                    I'm on a standard fat PS4 btw.

It's an option in the settings menu you can access in-game.

If you can't readily see it, select L2/R2 for the advanced options.

                        MLB The Show 17 Impressions

So about to head out of town for a nice family weekend, but I managed to sneak in a quick series on my new 1987 RTTS.

Seriously addicted to this mode now. Absolutely love it.

You can play a month worth of games inside of 2 hours!!

I love that you can stay inside the game menu and just keep playing the games in your current series.

I am digging the new interactions and the narrator.

I will be playing this mode a ton this year.

The crowd actually sings the full take me out to the ballgame song and runners return to bases when leading off when I press r1 and not with the delay of previous years. Very cool!

I wish they created a MLB The Show App where you can access your Franchise Mode, Diamond Dynasty and Road To The Show.

Perhaps allow scouting, edit lineups and pitching rotations and manage injuries...etc.

I agree, very disappointed myself. I hate the hiccup thay occurs as a player that hits a homerun is rounding second base. I always blink for a second when I know it's about to happen, so I miss it. It really takes away from the immersion.
