Thanks for the reply. I guess what I really mean is are the top 50 prospects supposed to be reflective just with different names or are they totally random? In other words, will Gleyber Torres be in the game just with a different name or is there no correlation there.

To the best of my knowledge fake prospects will have no correlation to real ones.

No the created players are just random generic players. I made a roster already that i transferred over all the blue jays as well as the top 100 prospects according to mlb.com from the OSFM from last year . gleyber torres is included in it. Im using it to get me by till OSFM drops this year.

I wanted to start a franchise and Im too impatient to wait lol but i respect the hell out of ridin and the crew so I didnt do any edits of any players its just a temporary fill until the OSFM are released.
I will be putting it on roster share under the user name MeAndBettyWhite later today.

For carry over franchise from '16.

Where there is a player in that franchise that is missing when you download your franchise from cloud......is that missing player replaced with a player that has the same attributes, but just a name change. For example....catcher Tony Sanchez. I understand he's not in the game, but he's in my '16 franchise. Will I see a replacement catcher with the same attributes but just with a created name and face?

All I would then have to do is change the name back and edit his face.

- Correct. You can edit his name but not his physical appearance. Something I will have to do with Yordano Ventura in my Cardinals Fantasy Franchise.

I have a question about franchise, does anyone know if you can turn off the player morale system? I wasn't a big fan of it in 16. - No you can not, and sorry you did not like it. I love it and also love we have a player morale specific screen for your team and can see it all in one place and sort it as well.

What does that mean?

Earlier MLB 2K games definitely had a 24 hour clock that would just keep going and going. Even mid-batter, you could watch the shadow continue to creep over parts of the field.

I don't believe this is the case for The Show, though. I believe that The Show changes on a per-batter/per-inning basis only. Meaning you won't see a shadow change until the at-bat ends.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but if you played a 40-inning game that started at 1:00, I'm not certain that it ends at dusk or night. I think that every time they have in the game only lasts for so long. No guarantees on this one.

If you're just referring to self-shadowing and such... hasn't this been in the game since PS3? I know it has improved over time (especially reflections since the inclusion of PBR last year), but I don't know what you're necessarily referring to that is "new" in this case.

Anyway, I think you do get some downsampling when running Enhanced Visuals on a 1080p screen. It gives you a warning whenever you select a non-2.2 option, but there seems to be a change in visuals when you toggle back and forth. I don't think it's Placebo. I guess identical screenshots are a way to check.



Really, the game looks phenomenal on all versions. I ran it on both my launch PS4 (1080) as well as my Pro (1080 and 4K), and in short, the (visuals) king is back!

Correct. Nothing stops you from applying changes.

That's what I thought too based on everything I was reading. From that screen it seems like the game's just informing you "Hey, you can put it on the enhanced visuals mode, but you're not getting above 1080p since that's all your TV can support".

Will definitely try that out tonight. As much as I'm looking forward to the high framerate, I want to mess around with enhanced visuals too if that's an option, just to compare the two.

I have been playing around with Dynamic Difficulty again this year. Just realized that when you go up a level it doesn't freeze for the rest of the game, like last year. Now apparently you can go up multiple levels per game. Now if they would add another slider so we had one for pitching and hitting, to control the speed of growth or stop it completely for them separately. I certainly Pitch better than I hit. It would be nice to be able to get Pitching where I want it and stop progressing, but still have Hitting able to progress. Instead of going in an doing it manually all of the time.

Nice. That always seemed like a bit of a silly restriction, especially since we can lock in the difficulty ourselves now. Thanks for that change B Ma!

No it does not. Play now mode. But you can use custom rosters!
