Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

    Rip apart my Dozier trade!

Twins send 2B Brian Dozier who was hitting .273/.358/.496 86 OVR B POT with 20 HR 52 RBI 5 SB

Blue Jays send 2B Devon Travis who's hitting .254/.319/.393 with 7 HR 37 RBI 2 SB (77 OVR 26 yrs old)
SP Conner Greene (21 yrs old 68 OVR B POT)
SP Shane Dawson (23 yrs old 67 OVR C POT)

The Jays were 2nd in the AL East and Dozier ended up with 34 HR and 96 RBI on the season and slid into their cleanup spot. His average did drop a little bit. He's locked up for another year I believe with his contract. The Jays blew past the Rays and won the AL East and I think some of this can be attributed to Dozier's bat in the lineup. I have Nick Gordon in AAA who is doing well but I'd like to let him progress just a little more. Polanco/Travis in the MIF is decent and if all three perform well then one of them can be moved next season if needed.

Travis maintained that .250 average and will give me a guy who could regain his .300 hitting form. I like Greene as I need some arms that aren't too far away. I have one of the worst rotations in baseball and we need some turnover like now. Dawson is just a filler who could potentially make a move to the pen or possible be a LR or spot starter.

Feels a little light. Minnesota turned down De Leon for Dozier during the off season who BA has rated as the #29 prospect.

Travis to this point hasn't been much better than a league average 2B who can't stay healthy.

      I think it'd take Travis + SRF.

I sorta like this idea. Anyway I can make it happen without SRF? Like Travis + Greene + someone else better than Dawson as originally proposed?

I don't see any way to pry Dozier away without giving up one of your elite prospects (Vlad Jr, SRF, Alford).

Dozier is coming off an incredible season, and having a very impressive season in your franchise. They're gonna make you pay up for him.

I might say SRF, Alford, McGuire for Dozier. Thoughts

I had traded Dozier to TB (who ultimately lost to ChC in WS) for Mallex Smith, Brent Honeywell and Taylor Guerreri, and everyone said i was good and could've asked for a better piece than Guerreri

              Hi All,

Playing as the Angels and am way out of it and trying to look towards the future. I don’t have the exact stats in front of me but Richards is 3rd in the Cy Young voting (not injured at all in my chise) and was looking to move him to the Yankees, Cardinals or Pirates. Who do you think I could get in return? Also, I would throw in Bedrosian if that could net a bigger return.

Okay, so Travis and SRF. I'm going to think on that one. Could I get back another AAAA player for depth as well or asking too much?

I think your offer of SRF + Alford + McGuire is a little high. If you value SRF & Alford at 55 FV and McGuire at 50 FV that would be 80 million in prospect value.

With Dozier set to make 9 mill next year I don't think he makes up for that value over the course of a year and a half.

Maybe replace Alford with Travis and go Travis + SRF + McGuire?

Even with the low average, the power numbers are there that i think would garner the SRF+Alford+McGuire deal. But seeing as he wants to trade Travis in the deal, i wouldve said exactly the deal you stated. SRF+ Travis+McGuire for Dozier seems right

I think Travis would need to be involved regardless as the Twins would need a replacement at 2B and the Jays would no longer need him with Dozier around.

Travis would be a good addition off the bench for Toronto. I personally dont think hes an every day guy and Minnesota could just call up Gordon for second base honestly

So I restarted my Orioles Franchise after playing around with couple just to get a feel for things and trades. I traded for Zack Cozart to replace the struggling JJ Hardy in one and really didn't too well with Cozart either. I am thinking of moving Manny over to short and looking for a replacement at third base.

The Royals have started out slow after 25 games with a record of 9-14. Assuming their bad play continues as it did in my play around files, and the fact they have bunch of free agents at season's end they will probably be looking to rebuild. Moustakas is one of those free agents to be, and through the first 25 games is hitting .262/.300/.490 with 4 HRs and 12 RBIs. In the other files that I simmed further into the season he had similar stats to his career averages with his batting average around .240.

I searched through the forum but didn't see anything but what would the cost to acquire him? Would they look to get his future replacement in a trade or just take the best offer regardless of the positions the prospects play?

I'd think that Sedlock + Jomar Reyes could get it done for Moose.

IRL I agree but in the game it's pretty clear that Gordon isn't quite ready to make the jump.

I'm fine with Toronto winning the perceived trade value here. I ultimately want to make sure I never take advantage of the CPU in a trade.

In the game Travis has the potential to be an every day guy so I think his value is a bit higher in game. Plus his contact ratings are through the roof.
