Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

2018 offseasonm My As need a bat. Someone with a balanced offensive skillet. Good contact and power. Looked around and found Tommy Joseph from Philadelphia

Philly lost in WC game. Joseph was injured most of last year but put up 14 HR and 32 Rbi while batting 236. Philly desperately needs a power corner outfielder.

So i am thinking, Khris Davis .223/28 HR/87 RBI and a 75 overall/93 potential SP i drafted in year one would do the trick. Thoughts?

Philly srill has Velasquez, Nola and they signed Chris Sale. But after that, their rotation is atrocious
Oakland A's - Seattle Mariners - Detroit Tigers
Pittsburgh Steelers - Green Bay Packers
    Detroit Red Wings

If it is just for Gray and not also Alonso, do you think the A's would consider Rutherford instead of Frazier? I'm not sure what Rutherford's potential is in the game but I know IRL values are the same. We've said that Gray and Quintana are both about equal returns. I've decided to do a 'continue the rebuild' Pale Hose franchise and I know I'd actually prefer the quantity trade over the quality of Gleyber trade as it fills more holes, but the A's are probably in a different position.

I might actually do that one but I'm still waiting to hear on this one first as it fills some good holes as well. I just don't know how the Cards would've felt or if it was the Sox who turned them away, if there ever was an offer?

Prior to the season starting (like Mar 31st), how would you have felt about Quintana for Delvin Perez, Carson Kelly, and Harrison Bader? I actually feel like StL is a 45FV prospect short - but would StL have done that deal?

Also, if it were to the Yanks, would they be more willing to do Rutherford instead of Frazier or would they have even taken a Frazier, Mateo, & Sheffield for Quintana offer?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

At the All Star break in my 30 team control. These are the trades that I've completed so far and want to make sure they're fair and realistic. Stats can be included later on cause I don't have them on hand.
        Reds get:
        SP Nick Neidert
        SP Rob Whalen
        CF Brayan Hernandez
        Mariners get:
C Decin Mesoraco (off the top he's like .278/~.320/~.400s/17 HR

Mariners are down to 2 catchers in their entire roster due to injury.

        White Sox get:
        SP Marcus Molina
        SP Anthony Kay

        Mets get:
        3B Todd Frazier (~.260s/~.300s/~.400/18 HR)

Mets are tied with 2 other teams for NLWC, Wright is down for what looks to be the season.

        White Sox get:
        SP Joshua Sborz

        Dodgers get:
        C Geovany Soto

Dodgers are at like ~60 wins and Yasmani has no HRs, 12 RBIs, hitting under .200. Soto is hitting +.260 with 12 HRs.

        White Sox get:
        2B Ian Happ
        1B Jeimer Candelario
        SP Oscar De La Cruz
        CF DJ Wilson

        Cubs get:
        SP Jose Quintana
        3B Gerson Montilla

Looking to get about 40 trades this July.

If the Cards get to keep Reyes it looks more like Kelly + Perez + Weaver

And Quintana is worth like $80-100 in surplus value. It would be more like Frazier + Kaprellian (Assuming he is healthy in your game) + Mateo + Sheffield/Adams

Oh, I fully think it costs Gleyber to get Cole, Quintana, and others in that tier, I just don't think Gray gets him. I would be willing to trade Gleyber if a trade, just not for Gray. He's too much of a question mark to give up a Top 15 prospect in my book. He's been hurt a lot and hasn't been THAT great this year, he could easily be more of a mid rotation guy over those years of control. Which is valuable, but not Gleyber valuable in my book.

When looking at trades how much do prospects count for value?

Well if he is performing anything like the way he is in real life then probably an expired can of Tuna will work. If he is performing similar to his career numbers then a low B prospect or a couple C prospect.

He is in the final of his deal so really any deal for him doesn't really make any sense since it seems like you want deal vets not bring in rental ones.

hmmm can the A's spare some tuna? i was actually thinking if i brought him in i would sign him to a deal as the "veteran leader" of the staff.

as of right now theres a deal on the table with the yankees for gray and alonso for frazier, cessa and romine

and im looking to move vogt to a contender (in this case the mets) for a bullpen arm.

                      thanks for the input sc!

                        Sonny Gray to Atlanta Braves
Ronald Acuna and Mike Soroka to A's

That is not enough for Gray. Acuna, Maitan, plus two pitchers off the top of my head. I cannot remember ATL prospects...

You can't be serious. Acuna is 18 and raking in AA. He compares favorably to Victor Robles, a top 10 prospect. Maitan was just given $4+ million the Braves aren't trading him. And Soroka is another teen killing it in AA.

I could see the Braves using one of Albies/Acuna/Allard as the headliner but the second piece would be at the back end of the top 100. Not multiple top 25-50 types

Here ya go for a list of Braves prospects http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-3...tlanta-braves/

                            8 have a 55fv or higher

Hasn't this thread decided that Gray and Quintana are of similar value? Acuna as a 55 FV hitter is worth 38MM and Soroka as a 50 FV pitcher is worth 14MM. That adds up to 52MM which is light.

Robles is a 60FV worth 60MM by himself.

Maybe you are taking recent events in real life into account whereas I am thinking of rosters that are based off of times before this season started?

I agree though, to an extent. Albies would have to be the headliner. Acuna or Allard are not enough.
