Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I'm finishing up my 2019 season and I'm contemplating what to do with my infield in the offseason. Currently I have Rizzo, Baez, Bryant and Russell. Baez is a FA at season's end I have an Ian Happ type of 2B I drafted in 2015 who hit .352 for me last year in part time duty who I'd like to get more time. I'm thinking of resigning Baez, moving him to SS and trading Russell who will have 2 years left before he's a FA. What would be a good return for Russell?

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
I've been carrying this franchise over since 14 so it isnt really Happ its just a similar player amd I have a really good OF thst I need room for since i have Heyward and Almora who have been awesome for me.
I've thought about letting Baez walk but I really rake with him. He's hit 40 or more HR's 2 of the last 3 years. So I'm thinking Russell is the odd man out.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
What is Tyler Austin worth from the Yankees? He has an A POT but not real sure what he could be worth?Comment
-
Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't deal him. The IRL Yankees won't; they're concerned about Bird's injury history and they don't really have any other MLB first base options right now. If they were the best team in the league on June 1, I could see it, but they won't be. I don't know of any realistic Austin trade that legitimately improves the team.Comment

Could I trade Gardner and Chance Adams for Micheal Brantley?Comment
-
Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Oh, no. Going to take a good haul for the Indians to consider that. Gardner is a downgrade and Chance is your 8th prospect or so, maybe in the teens.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Also Interested in a three team trade that I think might work
Yankees get Carrasco
Indians get McCullers, Johnathan Holder, Albert Abreu
Astros get Tanaka and Estevan FlorialComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
So I came up with this using the formula that South Carolina display picture gave out using value of a contract and brantley is worth right around 43 million with Gardner being worth roughly 36 plus Chance which yes is our 8th prospect but in a deep farm system. in normal farm systems chance is not the #8 guy. In the Red Sox he would be the #4 guyComment

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread
Probably not. Brantley's health is a real question, but his upside is so much higher than Gardner's. Plus Gardner has a good bit more money left on his contract than Brantley does. And Adams wouldn't really move the needle.
The thing is, if you're trading for Brantley its with the expectation that he will be healthy and great again. And if that's the common belief, then the Indians would expect a return in trade for him to reflect that. Brantley is a strange piece to try to tradeComment
