      No it wouldn't.

It would take at least a package of 4 in real life. I guess if you want to do a deal without Meadows and Bell, you can deal McCutchen and include the headliner in that deal to what you have to offer above. Or Glasnow, Keller, Newman/Hayes.

I know Quintana isn't known that well around baseball, but everyone will be shocked with the package the trading team gives up. 4 years about $35 mill left on his contract (the last 2 years being cheap options).

Hypothetical situation, if the Rangers are out of it. What could Napoli, Darvish, Lucroy and Gomez be able to net?

I would say it's a really good base. The reports on what the Sox have been asking for look astronomical. A Pittsburgh beat writer advocated offering Glasnow, Bell and Mitch Keller, FWIW. I don't think it would take quite that much, but Quintana has been the 7th best SP in baseball and he's on an absolute sweetheart deal for 4 more seasons, so there's that involved. I think the Sox could play Houston and Pittsburgh off one another to get a pretty hefty package. Think:

Quintana for Glasnow, Bell and a 5-10 prospect (maybe Ke'Bryan Hayes?)

          or

Quintana for Martes, Tucker and a 5-10 prospect (Daz Cameron, for example)

Both pretty competitive offers. I would say Houston is the more likely of the two teams to actually want Quintana in my opinion, but either one you pick is likely a fair offer from the Sox perspective, unless I'm just way overrating Quintana. I'm a fan, and a cost-controlled legitimate ace is the most valuable commodity in baseball.

I'm interested in this as well. I don't think I'll be able to stomach dealing Lucroy but I would like to know the value of those four.

It's my understanding that Gomez won't be worth much unless he's really stroking. But I would expect a really good return on both Darvish and Lucroy.

If im the Sox, i like the Pittsburgh trade. Another young top pitching "prospect" and Bell and Hayes pretty much conplete the rebuild in the infield. Bell, Moncada, Anderson, Hayes is a good young infield.

Or what about Meadows, Bell, Hayes for Quintana? Would Pittsburgh be more inclined to do this as they need pitching and Meadows is blocked?

I was just referencing those two as a start, A base to start with.

But after sleeping on it I figured if that's all it took Pitt would probably have already pulled the trigger. Chi would probably be asking for Glasnow + Meadows/Bell + Hayes

Value is still good on that deal, but I think Pittsburgh would be more inclined to deal Glasnow, and the Sox would still accept. Not a Pirates fan, but the organization seems exceptionally high on Meadows as a cheap, potentially elite replacement for Cutch. If I'm the Pirates, I'm doing the Glasnow/Bell/Hayes deal, holding on to Meadows, and if he's ready, dealing Cutch to restock the farm in the offseason, with an outside shot Meadows completely replaces Cutch from a production standpoint, meaning you've added Quintana for a slight downgrade in prospect value. That's just me though.

Maybe a White Sox fan could comment on whether Meadows is a deal-breaker or not, but I'd still say either package Glasnow/Bell/Hayes or Martes/Tucker/Cameron would get the deal done. Like you, I think the Pirates package is stronger, so that's likely the deal that gets done. Up to you to decide whether or not the Pirates offer it.

As of now, Meadows does seem to be the deal-breaker. They have a lot of arms in their system (not that they wouldn't take back anymore) but they need to add to their core of hitting more. You could probably swap out Meadows with Bell or like I said before, deal McCutchen for a good package with an A potential position player coming back, deal said player with Keller and Newman or Hayes, and use a stop gap until Meadows is ready.

It seems like the Pirates were going to do this in real life if they were able to work out a deal involving McCutchen (the rumored 3-way deal that fell apart between Sox, Yankees and Pirates).

Just depends on a landing spot.

Pirates Receive: Jose Quintana & Aaron Judge

                      Yankees Receive: Andrew McCutchen

White Sox Receive: Rutherford, Mateo, Kaprielian, Kevin Newman

                      Would likely need stats!
                      Thanks for the response!

I feel like that might be too much of a return, but I would obviously take that value. In general, do you guys think it would be realistic to trade McCutchen?

That deal would require a lot of moving parts, but from what I have heard that looks ideal...Maybe no Judge involved, but wanted to give you that young OF.

Very realistic to deal Cutch...They shopped him all winter haha.

Sure, if you added something with a good bit more value than Iglesias

I have a hard time seeing the Yankees offer that much for a 30 year old outfielder coming off a down year with 2 years of control left.

Judge is a solid defensive right fielder, no need to move him down the spectrum at this point.
