Just to clarify, I apologize if I offended anyone saying they didn't have the right to take the game back, of course they do. I'm just saying in MY opinion I would keep it to play against friends or just play against the CPU.

I have mentioned it before and I will mention it again. I am playing against the CPU and I don't care if those games are queued BUT

I played two games tonight and they were queued and I got my credit. I haven't been disconnected from the server after a Play Vs CPU game for several days, not since the maintenance earlier in the week. I thought maybe things were getting better.

Nope. Silly me.

I only needed 2 strikeouts with lefty pitchers to get my Diamond CC Sabathia card so I started another game. Rich Hill Breakout is selected as my starting pitcher. If I get the win with him I will also have 6 out of 8 wins I need from breakout pitchers to get a Diamond Catfish Hunter. Rich Hill pitches a 1 hit shutout which I need a lot of to advance another mission. He struck out 14 batters which would have completed his personal mission.

Play for an hour or so, exit the game and do I even get the queued message? Nope. I get a message that I was disconnected from the server. That is crap. I played against the damn CPU and the game cant try and reconnect to send my minimal box score over? My progress is lost. My missions are not updated. I do not get my first diamond card. To be honest if it dropped connection during the game I wish it would tell me so I could decide if I wanted to continue wasting my time by finishing the game.

I assumed maybe they had resolved the disconnect issues while playing. Maybe I was wrong to assume that but their silence on the server issues are not helping at all. They are doing server maintenance and that is all they tell us so the logical conclusion is they are fixing the issues.

Remember these disconnects is also what kept me from completing the Opening Day mission. Tomorrow is day 10 and I am not sure if anything has even gotten better or not.

It's easy to say you wouldn't care when you are talking about something that doesn't impact you. I wonder if opinions would change if it was reversed. What if local games were freezing every 5 innings and somebody was forced to play against a human opponent online to enjoy the game?

I never said I didn't care and I also never said online people should just shut up and deal with it, as people seem to be implying. Everything isn't black or white as people in these forums like to make them.

Just to clarify, I said that I think the game is good enough, the base game, that no one should give up on it completely because of these very early issues.

That sucks! And again, I feel for you guys who are primarily online players. I'd quit trying to play these scenarios though until you can verify that it's improved. I have done some things in the game and I believe I've gotten credit for it but honestly I'm typically just playing against friends, the wife or exhibition games.

Here's a question for you guys who are really upset about all of this.

What are your plans for MLB the Show 18?

I am not really upset. I classify myself as mildly annoyed.

And I know for a fact I'll be there opening day 2018, and have already prepared to be somewhat miffed and mildly annoyed again, reading a thread with a similar title to this one.

No plans for next year. After the debacle last year I was hesitant to pick up 17, Griffey was a big plus and in the end I thought I would give them one more chance (but honestly without Griffey I would have passed, so who are they getting for 18 to tempt me?).

This year has the same problems as last year and the lack being forthcoming with any real communication has turned me off. It's a great game, sure. I'll continue to play it. I will not preorder next years game, I will not buy it opening day. If I do purchase it, I will wait until it's price is down to around $25/30 used.

Many, many things about '17 are great. But having so many server issues, this far into the games release, and having it happen for several consecutive years, is kinda surprising.

Yes, for a team that is so open and communicative with the community during the months leading up to release. Their silence on the issues are deafening. We don't need definitive answers but some acknowledgement that you are still working on the server issues would be nice.

Many, many things about '17 are great. But having so many server issues, this far into the games release, and having it happen for several consecutive years, is kinda surprising.

Yeah, I really enjoy the actual gameplay but as someone who as mostly played Conquest and the DD Play vs CPU modes the server issues have killed some of the enthusiasm.

If the same issues exist next year then they are just not trying hard enough to resolve their issues. They make a brilliant game and then lose so much goodwill due to server issues.

3 more games FROZEN in the last two days. Which makes me 14-8. Normally who cares except 4 of those losses are 4 disconnects. And since they decided to add rewards to season play they've cost me close to 200 ranking point. During off peak hours. Almost TWO WEEKS after launch. I love this game, I really do. But if this stuff isn't ironed out in the next few days I'm done. I've got too many other well made games in my back log to be wasting my time on this one. And next year I'll wait to see if it's any better. No preorder and certainly no $100 preorder. I want to have faith and be understanding but when you see Ramone and others on this forum constantly trying to push the game and then TOTALLY GHOSTING once the game has problems. Completely abandons the community they claim to love and have respect for. Totally unacceptable.

My thoughts exactly. I'll pick it up when it's under 20 bucks just like I did with 16.

Yeah it's definitely frustrating. I wish I had the willpower to hold off long enough for it to drop to that price. I say every year I'm gonna hold off but every year here I am preordering. [emoji15]

I just dropped my online expectations years ago and I buy it day one with that in mind that it's an offline game. This year has been a bit bad though because even some of the offline stuff seems to tie into the online which is a pain.

This. Conquest is an offline single-player game mode, so why does it have to handshake with the server every time a move is made? Are they that worried about people gimmicking the system for free cards/stubs?

If it weren't for the server issues, I'd have already completed Conquest Mode and collected my rewards. As is stands, I'm not even halfway through due to stronghold wins not counting (and my own ambivalence as a result).

I just want it fixed! I'm having brain lapse here...I remember MLB 14 had massive blue screen/freezing issues that were never solved. MLB 15 had faults that were fixed but took a bit to fix. I bought last years and all I remember is the good times (me and my friend playing this all night long haha)...but I dont remember how long it actually took to resolve. Does anyone remember the time line for that? I have still high hopes for this game...and it helps I havent even been able to play online even if I wanted to due to work/moving...but was curious if anyone remembers about how long it took last year to get this resolved.

And once again I play 9 innings against the CPU only to get the message Your Connection to the server has been lost.

All progress lost and another hour of my time wasted. I have now lost count how many hours that is.

I don't want to stop playing the game but SDS and Sony is making it damn hard to stay motivated.
