Re: Too many HR's?
Just really getting into the game this year, been super busy. Hitting ( I feel) is way too easy.
Zone hitting on All-star. Just had 8 homeruns all over 400 feet. Wind blowing out 5mph. Scored 18 runs only 1 run scored without a homerun contributing.

Re: Too many HR's?
Through 16 games in my franchise the #1 ranked team in HRs has 23, I have 18 which is tied for 12th best, and the last ranked team has 7.

Re: Too many HR's?
You guys are hitting so many home runs because you're playing on all star. This year's HoF is last years All Star. The PCI is way too big on All Star which means you're going to barrel the ball WAY too much. HoF has been producing fantastic results for me, the smaller PCI means I get better hit variety too."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: Too many HR's?
Honestly I felt there were way too few it home runs last year. HoF is sitting at about two per 9 innings with a stupidly stacked lineup, and it's not so singles heavy like last year. So with a normal team lineup and better timing sliders once I start franchise, it should be pretty good.

Been playing exclusively on HoF in Franchise, and every game me and the cpu are crushing 4 plus homers each, every game.
Alot of them look ridiculous as well, pulling a ball 500 feet when its off the outside of the plate.Comment

Same exact settings as A&S sliders

Re: Too many HR's?
The opposite field homeruns off late inside swings are ridiculous too.
I did a video breakdown on the wind and inconsistent hitting and curious to hear others opinions.
Basically to me the yellow and green swings are inversed as far as how hard the balls are being hit.
Oppo power is too high in general and wind needs to be knocked down 2-3 clicks
Also green swings are just not being rewarded enough

As far as just oppo, I think it may be a little high, but not too terribly bad. I was amazed watching highlights last year of just how many dingers were indeed hit opposite field. I think it's becoming a trend actually. I think the real problem is the timing windows. I find it hard to be early because the timing slows me down sometimes. I think that their "improved" timing windows catches the bat up and delays it, and if you as a human is about equal on early and late, you will tend to push the ball because if you're early it will try to hit it to center.Last edited by Bunselpower32; 04-22-2017, 11:51 PM."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: Too many HR's?
I'm 28 games into my franchise and I think it's quite obvious that home runs are up, and up significantly in this year's game. I can only really speak for my team/franchise but comparing it to last year it's off the charts.
I have always played as the Cubs and given, this year it's not outside the realm of believeability that they may lead the league (at least the NL) in home runs. However, in the game I lead all the Majors with 59 through 28 games. Schwarber has 18 long balls. Which in case you're wondering, puts him on pace to hit 104 on the year.
Furthermore, the all-time record for home runs by a team was set in 1997 by the Mariners. I believe they hit 264 that year and that's an average around 1.61 per game. Right now I'm averaging 2.10 and at that pace I'd hit over 340.
I play on All-Star, as I have every year for hitting (HoF pitching). I've dealt with it hoping that it's just kind of a fluke but the more the season moves along the more it becomes quite apparent. There are definitely too many home runs. Which stinks because it really takes the excitement out of hitting them, at least for me.
It's also obvious that the cause of this is the new ball physics. Either that or it's an insane coincidence that lots of people are seeing so many home runs the year the ball physics are changed.
Regardless, I'm really thinking about bumping up to Hall of Fame hitting for the first time.
Do any of you guys play on Hall of Fame (using directional) and get good results? I'm a creature of habit and have been settled in to All-Star for quite some time. I really hate to change.Comment
