In my last 3 games alone I lost by 1 run, lost by 1 run when I hit into a double play in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded costing me the game. The game after that, and most recent, I came back from down 4-0 to make it 4-3 heading into the bottom of the 8th only to strike for 4 runs and win the game 7-4. My stats are pretty solid across the board, best my stats have ever looked on any version of The Show that I've played to date.

I have consistency at 4 but could see going back to default as well.

With Zone interface, however, your PCI placement has A LOT to do with the hit variety you produce... so I'd check with Batter Analysis if your hitting approach is producing well balanced variety of batted balls (fly balls/line drives/ground balls).

Typically people tend to move PCI down even unconsciously (since the natural movement of thumb is to move L3 downward) when they Zone-hit... so I think the vast majority of people tend to produce pop-ups/fly balls compared to ground balls.

If you are producing line-drive doubles realistically as you say, you probably don't suffer from this "too many popup/fly ball" issue... but it's possible you are not swinging under often enough to give the ball loft for some of your doubles to become HRs.
This, and not only because it's natural, but also because it's a counter movement to the other thumb going up. I get killed on popups because of this. I have also found that because of the angle of the thumb resting on the left stick, when I do move it appropriately, it's not to my desired location. On HOF and above this will sink you (as evidenced by my atrocious spring training record). But as everything else, that's why you practice, and I'm making most games competitive now.

KontrolFreek would help making the L3 less sensitive to thumb movement... without it the stick is very tiny and only a slight movement translates to a huge PCI movement.

It is also natural for thumb to go down when muscle contract due to any kind of stimulation. And a lot of time people end up doing this when they react to something... I often sit on a high fastball, fully ready to square it up with preloading PCI up high in the strike zone, but often get too excited to actually see a pitch I really wanted and my thumb end up contracting, moving PCI down along with it, only to weakly pop up...

On the flip side is that this is why a lot of people really react well to pitches down in the zone... moving PCI down is not an issue for most people.

          Re: Too many HR's?

I'm a little over half way through my season and my home runs seemed to be a little toned down, for a while. However, Schwarber has 38 and is on pace for 69 on the year. Rizzo has 28 and Bryant has 29. Through 89 games. Those three are just destroying the ball. Everyone else's home run totals are in line with (although maybe a little high) reality. Schwarber, Rizzo, and Bryant all have super high power ratings at this point and I'm just not sure there's any way to reduce their numbers other than manually lowering their power a little.

What level are you hitting on?

Those numbers whatever it is you are too good for it and need to move up.

Little to do with sliders, more to do with difficulty.

All-Star Directional. I've played a few games on Hall of Fame (Zone). The problem remains that I simply need half of my home runs to be extra base hits. If that was the case everything would be perfect. Moving up to Hall of Fame makes it so my averages are not realistic.

I'm certain that lowering power ratings would fix it. Because if you take Schwarber's 97 power and bump it to 85, he's going to hit fewer home runs.

I looked last night at my home run totals compared to power ratings and it's exactly what I expected. Guys on pace for 20-30 are 65-75 power. A guy on pace for 30-40 has power from 75-85. Anyone 90 or over just hits too many home runs.

See my thread on how moving to HOF saved the game for me.

I had the same misconceptions as you...trust me, it doesnt work how you think.

Move to HOF, you wont regret it.

I wouldn't make any big decisions on sliders or saying "something is broken" based off of a small sample size of games, especially one game where you tee'd off on a guy.

Go 20-25 games, then if you think HRs are happening too often adjust the power slider down a notch or two.

Closest to do it was Mike Cameron. After hitting four home runs, his next two plate appearances were a HBP and flyout to the warning track.

... and he robbed a grand slam in the first inning of that game.
