They pulled him after 3 innings where he only gave up 3 runs?

That doesn't seem right to me.

Fair enough. I wasn't sure if it was the "starters shouldn't get overworked early in the season" generalization.

I truly believe that the game has to simply be played like the video game it is and forget about reality/stats etc. if you want to enjoy it cause it just isn't going to happen and i'm fine with that.

Yes it seems excessive but this was after he walked three straight batters I have only seen this happen twice and both times against the Orioles.

dont get me wrong here... i enjoy this game, i have been enjoying since '08 .. baseball is a game of numbers and statistics aswell and if i/we can get stats as close to real life, then i cant see why not put in some effort

No, but I change my location when fatigued, even throwing a few down the middle because the pitcher won't be on target. I do it randomly. You are good as long as his confidence is high. I think you are screwed for his next start because fatigue won't bounce back to 100%. Not sure if it matters once his energy level is exhausted.

Something else Ive noticed recently that might be another issue, is relievers not being pulled in the middle of the inning, even when getting pounded.

I probably need to play a few more games, as its something that I just noticed in the last couple games, that I dont think Ive seen a reliever pullled during the middle of a inning after giving up several runs.

Anyone else seeing relievers being pulled in the middle of a inning? Im also using quick pitch, in case that matters.

I simply think the CPU is weighting things incorrectly once you hit the 5th or 6th inning or so.

Obviously there is a formula that the CPU uses to determine whether to pull the starter. Something like, Stamina % + Confidence % multiplied by Inning Coefficient... if result is greater than a certain number, substitute reliever. Plus considerations for handedness in batter/pitcher matchup.

I think the game is simply putting too much weight on the 5th/6th inning.

I do agree that its hook threshold becomes very short by the 5th inning if the pitcher is getting in trouble and his stamina is half or below (I'm not going to use pitch count because that's not what the AI makes its decisions by). Would prefer to see that same logic start in the 6th instead.

That's really my only gripe. And I think that would fix the apparent QC/Manage mode issues as well.

At 86 pitches his stamina would be back at 100 for the next start in the show.
