Franchise Team Help.
So I don't think I can get past the Tiger Road Uni debacle so I'm looking for ideas on a fun team to use. Not huge on rebuilding but I wouldn't like some good young pieces. I've been most looking at Seattle and The Yankees. I love Aroldis and the uniforms are obviously classic. My only issue there would be that if I won, it's just another title for the Yankees.

Atlanta was really intriguing to me as well, but they seem to be a little ways away. Pitching staff is a bit old.Comment

Re: Franchise Team Help.
Try the Rockies. They have a really good, deep lineup that has young talent. All they need is some pitching. You could possibly trade CarGo for some help in that area."Baseball is the coolest sport because, at any moment, the catcher can stop the game and go tell the pitcher a secret" - Rob FeeComment

Re: Franchise Team Help.
I've thought about that too. Dodgers are nice, not a big Kershaw fan though, and it seems unrealistic to trade him. Nationals are fun, really like Scherzer but seems like I'd lose Harper after year one and I'm not a big fan of his either too.
Mets are nice, not a big fan of the unis though.Comment

Re: Franchise Team Help.
Maybe I'm biased....but the Phillies have young players and a pitching staff that's getting better every year..could be an interesting season especially with the Howard contract gone

Astros are definitely interesting, not crazy about the jerseys but hey. Always disliked the Phillies for some reason, but I'm all up for folks selling their favorite team to me. lol I need the help.Comment

Re: Franchise Team Help.
Fair enough the As could also be an interesting pick their cap space is so small and they really don't have an elite team so I think building them up especially with the limited cap could be an extra challenge to the franchise

Re: Franchise Team Help.
The Red Sox. Great young position players, Chris Sale, good 2-5 starters, tough division, Fenway...

The Angels might be an interesting choice. Kind of a middle-of-the-pack MLB squad with Trout as an elite player to build around. They also have a very weak farm system which will provide a nice challenge. Plus you have the big LA budget to sign free agents. I feel like they're on the line between rebuilding and competing now.

Re: Franchise Team Help.
TBH if I was really psyched to start a franchise with my favourite team I wouldn't let a uniform mistake get in the way. Sure it's not correct, but it's nothing you can't ignore.
Otherwise...
Not many people seem to use the Pirates, but they have a lot going for them. Great prospects, pretty solid core that is controllable until after 2018 season, and an awesome stadium.
I started a Franchise in '16 with them. Didn't have to do much work actually as they play really well already. Traded Kevin Newman and others for Quintana and focused on development of Tallion, Glasnow, Bell and Hansen.
Cubs won the WS in '16 and then beat me in the ALDS in '17. I'm tied for first with them in August of 2018 season. Bell and McCutchen are battling for the batting title, both hitting over .330.
Not sure what to do when OSFM rosters come out as I'll have already finished the 2018 season by then and don't know which team to use next!!!Comment
