    No save? Come on.

    How does Edwin Diaz come into a 5-3 game in the bottom of the ninth, and strikes out the side and not get a save? Seems like this game is a bit too buggy for my taste.

    To clarify this, I was playing the Astros. Was up 5-3 heading into the bottom of the ninth. I put Diaz in, he struck out the side, and was not awarded a save. This was never a problem in the past, always felt the game recording stats well. Just wondering what the deal is.

          As you should.

          I have not encountered this save bug yet.

          Please report it to SDS on the Shownation forum.

              There's been a bug the last several years where it won't register a save for a three-run lead in extra innings. I've never had a problem in a nine-inning game.

                they also used to give SV to the guy warming in the BP, instead of active pitcher in years past if you simmed to end of game after entering game in 9th inning. Quick Manage has fixed this and I love it.

                  Saves are antiquated anyway. The future of the MLB is to use guys like Diaz in high leverage situations, whether it be the 7th or 9th. Whip and K/BB are King

                    I hope your not being serious. Do I need to copy and paste the rules on earning saves in MLB?

                    Come on man.

                    Oh well here it is for you folks who may not know all the conditions of earning a save:

                    In baseball statistics, the term save is used to indicate the successful maintenance of a lead by a relief pitcher, usually the closer, until the end of the game. A save is a statistic credited to a relief pitcher, as set forth in Rule 10.19 of the Official Rules of Major League Baseball. That rule states the official scorer shall credit a pitcher with a save when such pitcher meets all four of the following conditions:

                    1. He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his team;
                    2. He is not the winning pitcher;
                    3. He is credited with at least ⅓ of an inning pitched; and
                    4. He satisfies one of the following conditions:

                    1. He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning

                    2. He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, at bat or on deck

                    3.He pitches for at least three innings.

                    If a relief pitcher satisfies all of the criteria for a save, except he does not finish the game, he will often be credited with a hold (which is not an officially recognized statistic by Major League Baseball).

                      If you come into a thread about saves, you should probably brush up on how they are earned.

                      I haven't seen this bug but I don't play much franchise until way later in the year. Hopefully it'll get fixed
