My wish is for a hitting engine that's not so favored towards flyballs.

Even with influencing down...messing with solid hits slider...50, 60, even sometimes 70% flyballs consistently. I use directional so it's not my PCI aiming.

And along those lines...FB/GB tendencies/BIP profiles for both hitter/pitcher.

Coors Field getting a whole new scoreboard.

Petco Park getting a scoreboard above the right-field seats.

It's because pitchers aren't allowed to wear anything other than shirt sleeves in real life. They can't wear compression sleeves because the designs on them could be distracting to the hitter. Pitcher's uniforms are extremely strict when it comes to that stuff... Their gloves aren't allowed to have different color laces or piping on them either.

It seems ridiculous, but this is a sport where Joe Girardi made Joel Peralta take a band-aid off of his face in a playoff game and the umpires made Brian Wilson color his orange shoes black with a sharpie.

I just made a thread about having the game really know at what point in a game or in the season when to ramp up the atmosphere and emotion of the crowd, but other than that, I've really been wanting some sort of achievements page, record book or all-time leaderboard, or any acknowledgement of previous records being broken. I broke the home run record with a CAP who hit 81 homers... The next season, they didn't even mention that I broke the record! Having something as seemingly small as an all-time leaderboard or record book be so important may seem silly to some people, but that gives the game a place to store things like record holders... That way, any time for the rest of the CAP's career, they can say "he hit 81 friggin' home runs in 2018", or he steps up to the plate currently 3rd on the all-time list with 718 home runs.

Also - in-game records just don't even matter. If you strike out 22 people in a game, welp, too bad for you because if someone gets 21 then according to the announcers they just broke the record.

The development team has addressed this community desire several times and it simply is a code killer.

Not going to happen anytime soon or this gen (if at all). We all would love it. But they explained it simply makes things crazy. I believe them. Knowing their passion for baseball I am sure they tried it and it failed.

I wish something could be done about the generic managers on teams who made new hires in the off season. I know it won't happen, but I'd like to see them put in the right managers after they officially manage their first game. Kind of like they do with players. Generic managers have always annoyed me, but it's going to be worse this year looking at one for the Yankees, instead of having Aaron Boone.

Ok, button mashers beware and start rolling your eyes. For those of us that don't well picture this.
ok opening day, is the biggest single day of the season right?

so why don't we give it the most presentation it can have?

teams being called out to the lines as they do in real life player by player and coach etc.

the flag being unfurled in center field and having the national anthem sung with full military presence and all that.

                    ceremonial first pitches

if the team is opening at home and any players on that team have one individual award. show them being presented to them
if a team wins world series have them being shown hanging the flag.

same with the all-star game, and postseason games. we need the deeper real-life presentation to help immerse us in the game even deeper.

oh these examples go for CPU home openers as well

                    just some thoughts...

I still play an occasional game of the show but not nearly as much as I used to which is why this is my first post since June 2017 on this forum.

Runs scored in manage mode are inordinately low. A major reason is something which was added in show 17 which is a large majority of balls down the foul lines curving foul. Balls which used to land fair for a hit now go foul which results in fewer hits per game which in turn results in fewer runs per game. This needs to be fixed but the fact the never fixed it in 17 tells me they must not see it as a problem and therefore I doubt it will be addressed in 18.

This game used to be an automatic buy for me. For the first time they will have to convince me to buy it this year. Not upset, just lost interest. I'll check out the gameplay stream when it happens.

Hey im new to this thread so sorry if it's been mentiined already. The shiw needs a player injury system like 2k. Certain parts if bidy are more prone to injury bc of injury history etc. Each player needs his own injury frequency slider system. Each part of body needs a slider system like 2k. Also the amount of head fracture and career ending injuries I've seen are ridiculous.

Hoping umpires get better. Way too many baseballs completely in the strikezone that get called balls (and vice versa). Obviously this happens in real life but you get about 3-5 of these instances per game in The Show. Too many, IMO.

Walk animation - After ball 4, have an animation where the batter immediately un-velcros his shin guard/elbow guard and leaves in on the ground before he starts to jog to first base.

Strikeout animation - If a batter goes down looking on a strike down the middle, have an animation where he immediately walks towards the dugout. It's a subtle difference than other strikeout looking animations, like he straight up just got fooled. Have him start walking as soon as the ball hits the catcher's mitt. No arguments or gestures, just a beeline to the dugout.

I've mentioned this before, but the more I think about it, the more I think a Call Game rating needs to be in for catchers above a lot of other improvements that I would like. Mlb 2k had it way back in the day and it gave the catchers way more depth and turned them from just another position player to a dynamic and vital piece of the pitching staff.

I've been wanting this for years. Hopefully at some point it is introduced in the Show.

This is a great idea that I've wanted for years! It would provide so much more immersion into franchise mode. To expand on that --- They could implement a system where speedy center fielders who tear an ACL or high-velocity Starting Pitchers who have Tommy John surgery have - depending on their durability rating - about a 60/40 chance of fully recovering, but certain attributes are never quite the same... Or in the off-season you could sign players as "reclamation projects" like when the Red Sox signed Grady Sizemore a few years back or how the Rays signed Nathan Eovaldi last year after he tore up his elbow. They already have player morale, so why not humanize the players a little more by having certain demands based on previous injuries or performance?
