Re: HOF has saved this game for me...

I only pitch and never hit. I played on AS for years, as I though any thing higher was BS-cheese. I am going to give HOF pitching a chance and see how things go. Even with QC, it does seem that cpu batters take too many good pitches. I always figured that HOF nerfed my pitchers and every game would be a slugfest.

But I understand some of your points. And those HR totals are way high for you. Maybe you should try tweaking some things around to make it more difficult to hit HR’s.

Wish I had that problem LOL. My big boppers hit the right amount. I have not seen anything out of whack like you have.

I would try adjusting your hitting sliders on All-Star if you want nothing to do with HOF.
It may just be a fluke but I put pitch speeds back to default and I just played a game with zero home runs and seven doubles! My highest doubles total in a single game by far this year. I'm determined to stay on All-Star because of how everything else plays. I can play, and win on Hall of Fame, but it just plays more realistically for me on All-Star. I just need to get my home runs in line. I'm 90 games in now, so there's still time for things to even themselves out. I believe (and am guilty sometimes) that too many knee-jerk reactions are made to sliders and difficulties. When in reality, stats kind of iron themselves out by season's end. At least that's what I'm hoping.

HOF has saved this game for me...

Just got shelled with Julio Teheran vs. the Mets on HOF pitching. Was cruising through the first 5 but was getting away with pitches left up in the zone. I knew it was a matter of time.
That's what I love about HOF pitching, you know you make a mistake and hopefully you survive. I was trying to be really careful with Cespedes and Duda but ended up walking them and Bruce destroyed a 1-0 2 seam that rode back in the middle.
I've watched things play out just like this sooooo many times in real games. Can't do anything but give a wry smile and move on.

I find myself cruising on HOF pitching inning after inning then BAM: 5 run inning for my opponent. It's frustrating but after each bomb I give up, I get angry but then realize the mistake I made. I LOVE HOF pitching.

As for hitting, I'm complete garbage on just about any difficult. Of course, I'm playing as a rebuilding team so I don't have many good batters.

HOF Pitching and All-Star hitting perfect for me.

I did not like Directional/Timed on HOF at all. Felt off, stiff and weak. And too unforgiving with that interface. With Zone I can see it working far better.

But directional is perfect on All-Star.

It works to some degree on pure analog too - I've been having fun with that lately when I don't want to go full zone. But I agree, on Directional it seems like you'd give up too much control of the swing to be able to hit effectively on HOF.

I'm having a blast on HoF for both using classic for pitching and timing/directional for hitting.

Through 60+ games with the Yanks, I've had blowouts, close games, comebacks, blown leads, and everything else in between.

Attached is a month by month team batting breakdown.

Went ahead and tried this out; lost 4-1 and 7-0. Both games felt legit as hell, especially pitching-wise, but I really hope my offense can hack it bc 1 run in 18 innings is pretty brutal. Will keep trying.

Grab a historical roster and crank out a few exhibition games for practice. They are more enjoyable and it won't mess your franchise team. Or you can practice by playing the CPU teams. Definitely more challenging.

I agree, last week I decided to return back to this game and I have been enjoying it a lot more now. On HOF/Legend pitching I have to walk certain hitters on purpose (especially if I am behind in the count) or I will get destroyed leaving any pitch in the zone.

I used to play on nothing but all star level. Now I'm playing on hall of fame for hitting, pitching, and fielding. It makes this game even more amazing.

I thought about giving HOF a shot this year especially with classic pitching, but in the few games I tried, I couldn't strike many cpu hitters out.

Strikeouts are almost perfect for me on AS (default except for CPU fouls taken down a notch or 2).

Any suggestions on how I could increase the cpu offense a bit without sacrificing K's?

For me its is very close on AS, I would just like to see a bit more offense. I would think merely raising contact would do it, but that would reduce K's.

i just switched to HOF and love it. I got cpu fouls and solid hits @ 2 for both, and contact/power/timing @ 5 for those. pitch control/consistency both @ 4. game is playing well.
