Who doesn't have a problem with hitting?
zone plus analog with stride users: that's who. seriously does anyone who uses the stride plus zone have a problem with hitting this year? finally the developers stopped rewarding button users for not having to stride. a crucial part of hitting!Tags: None -
Re: Who doesn't have a problem with hitting?
there is some good pitching out there that will destroy your timing for sure! but at least you can make adjustments with your stride.Comment

Re: Who doesn't have a problem with hitting?
The thing that breaks this game is that being just late all the time is better than good timing. It's pretty ridiculous how effective it is. Just late on a high inside FB at 98 mph? It's going to be a hit to the opposite field, with a good chance of being a HR if the guy has power. In real life you batting average if you get jammed like that should be below .150. Not in this game though, sitting off speed and just getting jammed on inside fastballs is a winning strategy, and its just not baseball.PSN: Maserati_Bryan17Comment

Does the stride timing matter? I was under the impression that it didn't and you could pull back well before the pitch without penalty.Comment

I believe it's a hidden thing. I do wish they would put that in the swing timing analysis, because I honestly don't know exactly when I'm supposed to be striding."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Completely agree with thisComment

Re: Who doesn't have a problem with hitting?
Couldn't agree more. About five singles I get on balls that would be homers pre patch. I get 7 hits and lose 2-1 while my opponent hits two homers and zero hits other than that. Worst patch everComment

Re: Who doesn't have a problem with hitting?
if you want to pull a fastball high and in your batter needs to be in his forward momentum in addition to being in the 'hammer' position by the time the ball is halfway to the plate. if you go too early his momentum will get there too soon and his bat will drag through the zone, and in some cases you may actually swing through it especially if it's offspeed.
if you start too late his momentum will not have begun and he may also be a bit off balance as he is still moving back towards the catcher trying to gather his momentum. it changed drastically from last year, and even more from years previous where at one point you just had to stride when the pitcher released the ball.
also for righty vs righty and lefty vs lefty pay attention to the pitchers front foot as he is landing while still focusing on the ball and it's release point. this will help you pick up where the ball is going to be thrown because your eyes will measure the distance between from where the ball is being released from the pitchers front foot. naturally you will notice the variance in timing, and the different release points each pitcher has for each pitch in specific locations. You won' t have to think about it, you will see it.Comment

Re: Who doesn't have a problem with hitting?
trust me, professional hitters still have trouble knowing when to stride as they have to adjust to the pitcher. there is no exact point at which you have to stride. you'll just have to get to know your hittersComment
