    Computer Cheese Annoyance!!!

Here to complain, talk me off the ledge!

Just played a 17 inning game and was constantly screwed by what I call glaring gameplay issues.

Stealing - CPU pitcher was one who had a leg pause at the top of his motion. Release L2 right when he goes into the motion to get my jump and runner sits there for a pretty long time, 89 speed/94 stealing, and eventually gets thrown out. I tried this multiple times and kept retreating the runner back thinking okay just a bad jump there. But multiple base runners and happened every time. Am I not clear on stealing? Isn't the runner supposed to break when you release L2?

CPU Cheese - this is the second game now that in extras the CPU gets a person on base, steals 2nd, sac bunt to 3rd and sac bunt to home for the win! I knew it was coming and there was no defensive positioning to stop it.

    Any advice?

I have yet to have the computer squeeze on me this year, showing me they have tweaked this from past years. What it probably means is you are throwing way too many strikes if they know they can squeeze on you. Also, if you know it is coming throw a ball way out of the zone and the batter won't be able to handle it and you will tag the runner out easily. It is actually fairly easy to combat.

Thanks for the reply guys. I still don't see confirmation that the runner is supposed to break when you release L2? They definitely does not happen for me. It seems the runner breaks at any random time after I release...

It is very annoying to feel like I released at the perfect time only to make no difference and have the runner wait before breaking for the bag to get thrown out.

I have it work for me sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. I usually just press it once rather than holding it, it's more random but I don't really have an issue with getting thrown out when I steal bases. sometimes I do, sometimes I don't

That used to be the case, but it doesn't work anymore. The people saying that it works sometimes are just happening to release it at the same time as the CPU jump. It's really annoying and a giant step backwards in terms of realism.

Thanks guys, yes very annoying. The L2 release to make the runner break theory makes the game more fun and actual user input to steal, disappointing it is not that way.
