    Re: Hr's down after patch

Did this most recent patch decrease home run frequency yet again? My RTTS player, who typically hits 25 to 35 homers per year, hasn't hit a homer in over a month's worth of games? Do I have to jerk around with the sliders again? I had it exactly the way I like it before this patch.

Is directional hitting busted ? It seems every time I use it I pop the ball up on the infield or it's a lazy fly ball to to the outfield. Last year ... or early on with this year's game I would use it and would be successful for the MOST part in hitting homeruns .. or a deep SF.
It could be me ... but it just doesn't feel the same

I'm at the point where I just wish they'd stop with the patches. Seems the offense changes after everyone, and I end up restarting my franchise because I want the offense to be consistent. Son as I get it going another patch comes out and it changes again. At this point the game is what it is. Just leave it alone.

After the last patch, I played about 7 or 8 games and had a total of one homerun hit between both teams. On my end it seemed like I just wasn't getting any solid contact. (Directional-timing).

So I went up one on solid hits and the ball started flying again but I was hitting to many bombs at that point. I then dropped the power one and so far I am getting good results. If you are having power issues you might try this as it helped my game considerably.

          Contact-5 Power-4 Solid-6.

Last game, went 10 innings nothing more than a single. took Lead off double to RF. Went to third on a WP. Next 2 batters walked on really close calls. Then Steve Pierce takes a 3-1 high CH. Sent it 460ft to Left at Rogers Center with the roof open, wind in from right at 5mph. It was with normal hit, but the pitcher grooved it.
The 2 previous games, power seemed down a bit, but I thought I was in a little slump.

I previously had power at 4, contact, timing and solid hits all two from max. I was fine with that, then this patch came. Suddenly, my RTTS player had 6 home runs in 60 games. So I increased each of the above mentioned categories by 1. He hit 12 home runs in the next 25 games. He then had a ten game stretch with 8 homers and 25 RBI! 10 games! I turned power back down to 4 and now things are a little more realistic.

I'm 100% certain this latest patch tweaked directional hitting. I had to increase solid hits from 4 -> 5 for both HUM/CPU.

                The differences I saw:
#1 - The foul balls were way different. I've played 100+ games and never saw the types of foul balls I was getting.
#2 - The ground balls were much weaker
#3 - The fly balls were not traveling well
#4 - XBH outside of HR just weren't there

I played solid 5-10 games and noticed the change. I had to go ahead and bump up solid hits to 5 and ever since I've been having much better success.

I've been on default AS hitting, so can't comment on solid hits at 4, but at 5 I have no issues with power or XBH post-patch. Just had a game where I had 3 homers, 2 doubles (thrown out at second at what could have been a third with a faster runner), and the CPU hit 2 HR.

Yea it's 100% when it was at 4. I've been hitting just fine for 100+ games. There was a clear difference to where I had to bump it back up. Prior to the patch I felt 5 was a little heavy handed.

Have you made any adjustments to power? Or contact?

Nope. I've been using POW/CON/SOL H/TIM at 5/5/4/5 and having perfect results (at least IMO).

                        Now I'm 5/5/5/5

If you don't mind I be interested to know what your CPU control/consistency/strike frequency are set at?

Add me to the list. I can't seem to quite get them over the wall any more.

I also haven't seen any of those frozen rope hit types any more - the ones that go over the AI's outfielders even though they play deep against the entire team.

My home runs are down, but my doubles are way, way down.

Thanks for the confirmation. I suspected as much. I'm finding the hitting plays much better with the pitching sliders at 5/5/5 for some reason.
