MLB The Show 17 Patch 1.09 Available Now, Patch Notes Included

MLB The Show 17 patch 1.09 is available now, check out the patch notes below.

    UPDATE: (From Victor of SDS)

Hey folks. I just wanted to drop a quick note and clarify the "slow mo" pitching in online player vs player modes.

Patch 1.08 introduced an unintentional stutter in the delivery of the ball from the pitcher. As a way to "smooth" out that stutter, we made a change in today's patch (1.09) that will make it seem like the pitch is moving slower from the defensive side only. The pitch integrity still remains the same, and from the offensive view, everything displays at the correct speed.

This change will not affect throwing out a player stealing a base.

Wish they'd actually tell us what changes they've made to gameplay sliders instead of just dropping it on us and letting us fumble through trying to figure out what's different.

Feels like they've dropped the pitch speed of off speed pitches, but it's hard to tell without any information. Don't know why they feel the need to keep us in the dark constantly

Was the division standings on the On Screen Display one of the various improvements and bug fixes?

Agreed. While I appreciate their continued work in attempt improve the game, the whole guessing game thing is getting old. If something was tuned, list it.

Yeah ok, they clearly didn't test this online at all. Pitchers now throw in slow motion when you're pitching online. It's only a visual glitch on your end, but it looks awful. When you release the ball it just slows down like it's the matrix

I'm actually starting to think it's an intentional mechanism to prevent those laggy teleporting pitches. So on the pitchers end it slows down for half a second to sort of buffer the pitch before delivering it to the hitter, who sees it come cleanly out of the hand without any lag. Looks horrible though

Two seemingly really easy fixes on which I've been whimsically waiting:

                        1) Ability to change the camera from default in CPU v. CPU games; and

                        2) During batter walk-ups, it should say the player's position (i.e. "3B") rather than his handedness (R/L/S).

Certainly not a big deal, but both were in previous iterations of the game and would seemingly be cheap and easy fixes.

#2 is hardcoded and a design decision that will not be reversed for this years game. Last year we had part time full season batter walk up stats.

It was a design decision and this year they went back to showing season statistics on walk ups.

They listen. And I can safely bet with the amount of feedback about not having the players position under their number, they will change that for next years game.

Any word or experiences with improved catcher defense and/or less aggressive base running on pitches in the dirt? Also less ridiculous and runs?

Much needed changes in this game.

Laser bunts still there? Almost every bunt was bunted so hard that you could turn a double play most of the times.
