Since the patch, has anybody's games in offline franchise started up and go straight to the batter walk up? My last 4 franchise games I've played today have skipped the opening presentation showing team records, lineups, and defensive positioning and gone straight to the away batter in the batters box. Weird.

If you see them, please post them here! They alwats seem to slip in major things under the "various bugs and improvements" and this time it is that offspeed pitches are even slower. I've bumped that slider to 8 already and might consider 9 with more play.

So far this is the only official word I've seen (from Victor):

Hey folks. I just wanted to drop a quick note and clarify the "slow mo" pitching in player vs player modes.

Patch 1.08 introduced an unintentional stutter in the delivery of the ball from the pitcher. As a way to "smooth" out that stutter, we made a change in today's patch (1.09) that will make it seem like the pitch is moving slower from the defensive side only. The pitch integrity still remains the same, and from the offensive view, everything displays at the correct speed.

My offline franchise did this last year and if I remember correctly, I think it got fixed at some point. This year, it started doing it to me about a month into the season, but it was only on first games of a series. I actually just started a new franchise hoping that it would not happen again. I am only the second series of the season and everything has worked fine so far but my first franchise started out fine also. For some people it wouldn't make a difference but something about missing out on the pregame of a first game of the series gets me.

The skipping of the pre game presentation was happening to me before this patch. I think the most it would happen was like 2 games in a row and then a couple good ones and then it would happen again.

Don't know if this is patch related but I just played a franchise game vs the Dodgers. In the 8th inning they pinch ran Puig for Turner and pinch hit Gutierrez for Grandal. The next inning they left Puig to play third and Gutierrez in as catcher ?!?

I've never seen this done by the CPU before.

Anyone else experience this?

It didn't surface in this patch. There's been occurrences of it since release (though it is rare).

May just be coincidence but in my three games I'm not seeing NEARLY as much power. As in from one extreme to the other.

weird. I had this happen for the first time last night. Custom 1977 rosters (Cle at KC) vs CPU. 8th inning they sub Freddie Patek to pinch run for catcher John Wathan, then replace Wathan w/Darrell Porter, but instead of putting him in to catch, they put him at SS and Patek as catcher!!!! Needless to say there were MANY dropped balls behind the plate.

played 2 games tonight and glad to say the 'umpf' is back in the hitting.

played as the yankees and had a good game. won 5-2 and judge smacked one out when i timed and placed it perfectly. also saw good driving baseballs like in release and unlike the last 2 patches where the ball went dead.

played a PLAY LIVE game A's vs Wsox too. Had some quality hits as the Sox but the A's got some good dingers on me and I lose 4-2.

I'll play more but it feels like they fixed the hitting.

Only glitch was in the announcing. had a base hit and the announcer said i flied out foul. happened twice on hits. never had this before but no big deal.

I'm seeing quite the opposite. Not saying you are wrong at all as obviously we probably play on different difficulty levels, sliders, teams etc.

It's probably placebo. I tend to blame slight things on that after patches. Very profound things I'll pay attention to, but otherwise I assume it's in my head.

I'm seeing more pop in the bats. However as I said in another post, it may just be placebo. Damn though, it sure feels like I'm getting more/better hits. The better hits could be a result of getting more and that could be where I feel the pop is coming from.

Like the patch thus far.
