I do not want SDS to touch anything until they nail down the hitting.
I feel this year the game made a huge step forward in how the ball comes off the bat.
However, I felt it changed after every update and as a player I never got settled into hitting.
I think the ball physics are great but the timing windows just seem off.
SDS discussed a little bit, but I feel there needs to be more timing windows and more variances to the hits they produce. I think it should be harder to get perfect timing, but when you do it should produce better results. I also think that when you are using Directional Hitting the swing influence should be tied more into timing.
Example: if I swing early but I am looking to pull the pitch AND the pitch is inside, that should be "perfect timing" since I purposely swung early. The animation should change also to accommodate that (i.e. player opens hips more...on flip-side if pitch is away he will now be off balance and animations should reflect that as well).
Today early swings and perfect swings have same animation, and pitch location seem to determine result regardless of hitters' actual intent. In real life, if a hitter is consciously looking for a pitch in, starts his swing earlier to pull the pitch, and gets his pitch....he is no longer swinging "early"...he timed it perfect....
That concept currently does not exist in The Show.
