Its Judge, yuck. Really don't like the money grab for the 3 day early version either. I guess EA is publishing The Show now?

This is becoming commonplace with all the major publishers now. And if it's the same price as last year's MVP Edition and you get it three days early, then I can't see how that's a bad thing.

I know it is becoming common place, hence my comment. I guess if you play the online card collecting crap of these games it is good for you. I prefer to only play offline franchise and RTTS modes. So for me it is a waste of money. I will probably pass on this years version. Unless some guys on here tell me it is worth the investment or at least until the price drop and the 11 patches that make it a working game.

Does it really matter who is on the cover?

Is Aaron judge going to fix the terrible CPU AI decision making especially the bullpen pitching moves that been in MLB The Show since the beginning?

I am still going to buy MLB The Show 18 because I love baseball and is pretty much all I play. But for some reason this is the fist time in the 10 years I have been playing this game that I am not really that excited for the next release. There are just way to many CPU AI and gameplay issues that have not gotten fixed some going back even 10 years!

And of course I am not happy that Citizens Bank Park continues not to get the upgrades it needs even after some of us here sending in photos and info for the last 5+ years.

Ugh. Disappointing. That’s because they select the cover athlete too early. Altuve deserves it. MVP. World Series winner. Proven to be one of the best players in the league. Most importantly, not a Yankee.

Judge hit 52 homers and 4 more in the playoffs and not once flipped the bat or showed up a pitcher. Judge is a great choice as this year was the year of the home run in baseball. For you to hate the Yankees that much is ok, but the hate that Judge gets is unfair this young man plays baseball the right way.

I would have love to have Altuve or Trout but my goodness Judge or Stanton we’re better choices.

However, maybe there is method to the madness beyond just trying to gouge people on the hype. At the very least, this will stagger the load on the servers a little.

It's not about who's on the cover, It's what's in the case that matters!

Thats a load of crap and you know it, i'll be having none of what you are serving (reasonable logic). Its been this way since the dawn of time that the cover athlete always dictates how the game is. Hated player = hated game, loved player = loved game. You always Judge a book by its cover, everybody knows that.

I disagree. Not to go too far off track but I think the majority of the people, not all ( I know Countryboy will buy it), who play DD and such will be the ones that buy more of the Deluxe/MVP whatever it is version. So the servers will get hit just as hard and crash and suck like they have every year. OS will fill up with "this game is broken, I didn't get my packs, Sony sucks" threads for a month or so. Then gradually over the summer it will all fade away to the main core on OS who play the game regularly, though a lot of that crowd is moving on to other places as well.

Back on track, I have nothing against Judge, I think he is a good player and at least so far seems to be a good kid. I just don't like the cover that I have seen. It looks like a GQ add, not a video game cover.

Looking at the site I don't see anything that ties the extra-cost editions to early access. It seems like you get it 4 days "early" by preordering.

Aaron Judge as cover is cool. As far as the pre-order stuff, I've always stuck with the standard version of the game as I don't play anything other than RttS so much of the pre-order bonuses such as sponsor pack or mission starter are useless to me. Am I reading this right - if you pre-order, no matter which version you get, you play it four days early?
