I played DD hardcore on MLB 15 and 16. Abandoned it on 17 because online was an absolute nightmare.

I love the mode to be honest as I am an avid baseball card junkie. It is a really fun mode and you can play it offline totally if you want.

Looking forward to seeing improvements. I primarily play Franchise mode....but will again look to complete one set (Yankees) but that’s it.
        Now Playing on PS5:

Has anything regarding graphics been brought up? I don't even see anything scheduled which makes me nervous...I felt like the game even in high frame rate mode wasn't as smooth as it could be...Any news on them fixing 4K mode which was almost unplayable due to frame rate issues...any news would be great

A little off topic but yes, collecting cards was my thing as a kid. we used to play games like topsides and colors if anyone knows what that is, with our friends. Some days I would come home with hundreds of cards and some days with none, it was a status thing back in the 70's and 80's. Now I watch my son do it and I get to do it on MLB the show. Pretty cool.

Meant to say topsies not topsides.

Man, that Franchise week seems far off right about now... Any chance we see NRIs? I'd love to hear completely re-written AI GM logic to go with the new Front Office thing. It seems like Phases is introducing parts of the seasons as modules the user will complete before progressing.

FIFA has something like this to countdown the last 12 hours of the transfer window. You have to advance time to make/send offers/etc, so you can only get so much done. Fairly simplistic and could be expanded upon to where some negotiations take longer (GM personalities? Talker/Direct), reputations are tracked (more negotiations/trades eventually results in benefits for user).

Anyway, I think this could be put to good use for in simulating baseball's long seasons marked by intermittent events - Opening Day, Draft, Super 2 deadline (for FO geeks), All-Star Break, Trade Deadline, September call-ups, and so on into the playoffs. If you create a module with it's own presentation (OD bunting in menus), draft/ASG logos, make it unique to that task/event rather than "part of the menus" or another day on the calendar.

Agree that this would be good for the show. Especially the count down. Effectively you sim through each hour of the 24 hours before the deadline? Would mean you could work out deals going back and forth and you lose leverage the closer you get to the deadline.

NRI's would be great. Maybe even be able to expand rosters to 95 for spring training & have some free agents on a milb contract, then reduce rosters to 90 for the duration.

Yes, that's the gist of it. Could also do something similar for Winter Meetings, not hourly, maybe break it up by days/AM/PM. Something so you have a few rounds to negotiate a blockbuster trade or signing but maybe it doesn't quite come off and gets completed later in the off-season.

The expanded ratings system would come in handy for ratings people. Hopefully they won't cap the editor to 99.

I'm also wondering if the ratings are scaled differently. There's enough work getting osfm up without having to redo all the calculators.

I missed the news on expanded ratings system. Is there more info on OS somewhere about this?

I believe all we know about it is what was in this video (:45), plus the Tips twitter saying that the new cap is 125:

We don't yet know how/if it carries to the offline modes.

A bit unsettling to see the main Franchise Mode dev in this trailer for DD, but Luis may have been working a lot on other modes according to this trailer. At this point, I would basically be shocked to see anything new and substantial happen for Franchise Mode in '18.

Yeah that was really disappointing to hear the main Franchise mode dev was working on other stuff instead of just focusing on Franchise. I'm also not expecting anything substantial.
