    Yes it is 1080p

I assumed that it's like buying a 4k movie and trying to run it on a older tv or blu ray player. and expecting it to look better.

You're talking about resolution. Something like HFR mode improves framerate only... which for me is huge.

      Oh, and loading times.

Quite a few games give you the option to simulate 4K resolution. They just added a supersampling mode on the Pro, which kind of does the same thing with games that support 4K. Just eat some Ramen and enjoy your new system and tv...

          Re: PS4 PRO question

Apologies if this has been answered in the thread already. I'm considering upgrading to the Pro. Is it necessary to do a console to console data transfer? I was hoping to trade in my current PS4 to help with the purchase. Can I just re-download my games on my new Pro? I don't have much on my current PS4 anyways.

Also, can I keep in game saves from the games that I would be re-downloading?

Thanks for any insight. Hoping the switch isn't too difficult because I'd like to make this decision by next Thursday night.

Don't have to do a console to console transfer. Just pull all your game saves and game data to your cloud and when you get your new one, just download them back on to the new one from the cloud. Digital games can be found to download again through the PSN store under your library. Impirtabt note though, factory reset your PS4 you are trading in or selling and also make sure you deactivate it off your PS account (can be done online via cpu or mobile app). Do that the very last thing after you have done everything else.

Hey guys i’m looking for some advice on getting the PS4 Pro. I know that when I’ve hooked up a PS pro to my Sony 940 D 75 inch TV but it set the tv into HDR mode. Which increases the input lag to about 53 ms compared to 33 ms when it’s in game mode. I actually bought one a couple months ago from Best Buy and tried it out my TV, the input lag was so high that it made the game almost unplayable due to input lag. I’m Thinking of buying another PS4 for and putting my old one in my sons room and keeping the PS4 Pro for myself, my question I guess is if I don’t plan on using hdr mode is the enhanced visuals and frame rate worth it. Do you guys play the game in HDR mode on your TV? I’m thinking about continuing playing the game in game mode and getting the better graphics, even though I know the new hdr mode is the new thing.

I use HDR when I play The Show on my LG 49UH60, but my TV has HDR Game Mode which makes the game playable. See if your TV has a similar setting. Whether or not you choose to use HDR, you can still use the High Framerate/Enhanced Visuals/4K modes. Even if you don't have a 4K TV, it's still worth it to go with High Frame Rate, the incredibly smooth gameplay is more than worth it. If you do have a 4K tv, you can use Enhanced Visuals and it will display at 1440p at a solid framerate, and it looks fantastic. Unfortunately 4K mode is not great, while picture quality is very good, the frame rate is quite choppy. As someone that really values framerate as well as HDR, I upgraded to a PS4 Pro for The Show 17 and I don't regret it one bit.

Can anybody confirm either now using 17 or when 18 comes out, that if you use super sampling in the system options and high frame rate mode in the game @ 1080p if the game still holds the high frame rate or does the super sampling override the feature and lessen the frame rate?

In '17 I can turn on Supersampling and The Show's High Frame Rate mode, and not really notice a performance or quality change. If I switch to Enhanced Visuals or especially 4K, I can see the differences.

It's not really a "turn on and forget" option like Boost Mode is though - it will noticeably affect other games' performance, like Madden and UFC to name a couple.

HFR is 1080p, so it is not being supersampled. Only resolutions above 1080p get supersampled (down rez'ed) to 1080p.

Just clearing up any confusion if there is any.

Do you have a 4K TV? Is it an 8-bit or a 10-bit panel? If you have a 4K TV, select 2160p RGB420 if it is 8-bit, and 2160p YUV420 if it is 10-bit. They also have to do with bandwidth as well, so if "Auto" is an option on there, just select that and your Pro should detect the right stuff for you.

Video playback is restricted to 1080p because it does not have a UHD player built in, but it can output to 2160p for games. I do not know about YouTube, Netflix, Vudu, etc.

Congrats on your purchase, by the way.

It does have auto so i went with that, looked at the output info and it selected the 2160 rgb. Thanks for the info Blzer!
