Just watching now as I try to plow through some Friday afternoon work, and I really like the crowd reaction enhancements and attendance logic. Hopefully the crowd noise falls in line as well.

It was said in the stream that they are laying the ground work for new crowd audio in 18 and will build a lot more on it going into 19.

I really like the new Theme 2 Batting Order overlay in 18!

Showing Fielding Position,AVG and Bat Left,Right or Switch is all good info that needs to be in the batting order overlay and SDS has delivered!

Here’s a screen cap of ‘17s pause menu. Speeds and ball/strike totals are there, as well as batter stats. Will be weird if ‘18s been changed and doesn’t have that on the menu.

Anybody else have any thoughts or opinions on this.

Maybe it has to do with being about to chose different themes for presentation? or maybe the Speeds/Ball Strike Total, Hitter HR RBI totals will be an option on the Dpad?

Did they show any of the new netting in ball parks?

I wasn't sure if those were being added. I haven't been really looking though

Here's a pic from another stream of In Game Pause menu. It has the Balls/Strikes/Total, But nothing about the Pitch speeds and what arsenal you are facing. How do you know during game if your facing a flame thrower- or something with a really slow curve

Well being a nerd.. Before every game I "scout" the team including the starting pitcher. So I know beforehand what's what.
BUT hopefully it's in there somewhere during the game.

Main reason I really wish they'd add an export file feature so I could print out rosters, stats etc...
Or even a print option straight from PS4...
been asking a while so doubt it ever makes it...

If I'm not mistaken when they showed one of the new presentation cameras in Cleveland you can see the netting was expanded along both dugouts. That was the only one I saw.

Also can confirm there is netting over monument park.

It also looks like the restaurant (batters eye) in Yankee Stadium windows are all black now, without the white lines separating the individual windows...looks night and day better! but they were still in there for the judge griffey video...hoping it was maybe an older build

My favorite stream thus far! I love the player emotions and all the new camera angles and updated themes and music. Things like that always make the game feel new.

Pretty much happy with everything they showed off, I can't wait to play this game!

A few down notes, I didn't like how it sometimes showed the players' position on the OSD as they came to bat, and other times showed which side of the plate they bat from. It should always show position. Hope this is fixed.

I'm kind of bummed they don't have the blinking LED lights at Yankee Stadium for homeruns. Hope they can get that in next year. Also looks like Chad Green has a generic pitching motion. The guy was one of the best relievers in all of baseball last season. Maybe his motion hasn't been added in the game yet? Hopefully that is the case.

This should be an easy addition, plus they added the net over monument park, the timer board in left, and looks like the white lines in the restaurant windows were removed...maybe they havent put in the entire homerun sequences yet in the build we are seeing. Looks like they gave extra attention to Yankee Stadium because Judge is featured...They even added in the LED lights, so I think they should flash during a homerun

From the stream, they had the new netting protecting the fans behind the dugouts at Coors Field and Progressive Field.

I wish they had coordinated the storylines feature with new stat overlays. When the commentators discuss the fireballer vs the crafty veteran, it would mean so much more to see stats comparing their K/9 or in the instance of the home run story line to have a stat overlay listing the homeruns hit by who and each inning and comparing it to a team record or a season record as a point of comparison. That way when these storylines come up in a different game, it will still feel fresh.

Also, I wish there were more season type storylines. It seems like storylines are just contained to the game. It would be nice to hear about pennant races and have the commentators comment on your divison rival's score during the game.

Nevertheless, a lot of the presentation elements look good. Especially like the look of the new theme and lineup screens!

Ok I just have signed on to this site . I have been reading this site for years on getting tips on the game. So I took the plunge and I registered. Ok let me first start by saying I have played MLB since 15. I just don't see the reason to because nothing is really upgraded that's big for the next year's version. So I played MLB 17 over my buddies , I mean really it's the same game from years ago not significant upgrades. I am a big commentary guy because the commentary is supposed to immerse you into the game and calling the action on the field but the commentary is stale and Vasgersan needs to go. They need to do what 2k did with there commentary I mean why can't Sony do this it's beyond me. Also I will not be buying the game is the developers don't let the animations play out. Why do they have to cut the animations like for instance the catcher throwing the ball back to the pitcher this needs to be fixed . The catcher should always throw the ball back tonthem pitcher and not have some cut away animation to hurry up the game. That's what the X button is for. Also when I played MLB 17 there were hardly any replays. Granted I only played like 3 games but it seemed like the replays were lacking. But my main grip is the commentary and the animations. Why have the fast play option in settings if you cut the animations anyway. This is ridiculous. Also why did Sony get rid of the option to choose a slow game they took that option out. It's only normal and fast play . I like to play with all the animations and replay like a real broadcast game. I still don't know why they can't announce the names of the starting line up before each game. That's another stupid move. So I just want to Say I really don't have high hopes for this game but I could be wrong lol

I am not saying it's a sucky game. But Sony knows that the commentary is a problem. If that was fixed and the the animations and if they announced the starting line ups of each player I would he happy. It plays welll but I am talking about the presentation part of the game. Ball physics are fine. I don't think adding Derosa is gonna change anything. But we will see lol.

How will we see if you don't buy it? I suppose you could rent it or watch YouTube videos.

Trust me, no one thinks the commentary needs an overhaul more than I do, but it's not as much the people as it is the structure of it. That being said, sometimes new voices that come in just freshen things up anyway, i.e. changing them just for the sake of changing them. I like Matt as a personality for MLB Network and what he does in the booth, but he doesn't necessarily reflect that in this game. It would just take way too much to change him though, at least for now.
