Why in the world are Oakley’s gone? Why is the customization still jacked up. It’s the 4th game with licensed equipment. There’s no excuse for not having this stuff right other that not caring.

Re: Equipment Updates 18
Sucks, but I'd guess the licensing fee went up and it just couldn't be afforded within the budget.Comment

Re: Equipment Updates 18
My guess too.
Happy about the fielding and batting glove additions. Disappointed no Victus bats and Nike catching gear (since Marucci who owns Victus and Nike are already in the game). Annoyed at Oakley being deleted (but guessing that’s Oakley’s fault not Sony).

Re: Equipment Updates 18
To me, this is such a BS excuse. This team makes SOOOOO much money off this game. It seems so unrealistic to me that if they really were dedicated to an authentic baseball game (which, it's not. They are more concerned with DD and RTTS these days) they would pull the appropriate strings to make it as close to real life as possible. Call it laziness or prioritizing the above modes, but it becomes disappointed when some people, such as myself, drop over $100 on this game year after year.Comment

Re: Equipment Updates 18
There HAS to be a reason why Nike catchers equipment still hasnt been added.
I would have thought this would have been one of the first things added when they started licensed equipment.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: Equipment Updates 18
They have missed the mark again this year on customization for equipment in my opinion. Logo colors still locked or can't change them at all. Logos still don't have their own seperate color option (Nike batting gloves). Equipment that I have seen absolutely nobody use added to the game.
I don't quite get how whoever is in charge of the equipment takes a look and says to themselves that this works and everyone will love these customization options. I just don't get and I know they won't fix anything again this year even though it seems like it would be an easy fix as far as the color options.
Looks like Adidas gloves doesnt change when giving Knuckle color a color.Last edited by The Kid 24; 03-23-2018, 04:08 PM.Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

I agree as well now that MLB 18 has Nike sponsor adds in the stadiums you would think Nike Catcher equipment would have made it in.Youtube: https://youtube.com/@mlbnetworkleagu..._hz5M86fl-FbW4

Re: Equipment Updates 18
On the whole, going through and doing some quick Red Sox equipment edits (updating my spreadsheets in prep for opening day), I think with the added batting and fielding gloves I feel like I am better off even with Oakley glasses going (everyone gets Nike or UA I guess), the 'Chaos' tape scheme being worse (IMHO), no 'net' improvements (again, on the whole) to cleats (IMHO anyway), and no additions to bats, catchers gear, tape/sleeves/etc etc.
Sure, there are disappointments (I don't know why the Victus omission bugs me so much haha), but over all as I go through I feel better off, on the whole, so far...
When OSFM drops, and I do all the Red Sox equipment/stances/etc for what will become my main 'chise, that will be the main test...but so far I can live with what we've got.

Not a huge fan of the change to the tape color scheme either, I think last year was better. 'Chaos' has almost no secondary colors that you can see.

Re: Equipment Updates 18
Like the new Stance socks. But pretty sure the Royals' sock color should have been of the dark blue variety, not the powder blues. The powder really clashes with the rest of the uniforms (esp. road gray) and can't say I've ever seen KC wear socks of that color IRL.
Also bummed that Oakley is no longer in the game. Ugh.Comment

Re: Equipment Updates 18
Oh well, Victus will be Marucci (last year I used the Mizuno bats but even though the logo is close-ish it just didn't work for my pea brain haha), Tucci Lumber will be the 'LS' Louisville slugger, Chandler will be Trinity or Rawlings depending, Nike catchers gear will be All Star, Oakley glasses will be UA or Nike. On the flip side, having the new mitts is grand.
And, wow is the Boston Team Color 1 (red) ever brilliant. That is a VERY noticeable improvement in color. Just making something Team Color 1 (vibrant) beside the Red (dull) is stark in contrast.
Overall, the selection available is exponentially better than having generic everything...so I am thankful for everything added so far.
Back to my spreadsheet, Getty Images, youtube videos of last year's Red Sox games, and the March 22 roster update....

Wow can't believe they took Oakley sunglasses out! So many players wear them. Now it's just Nike and UA and generic.Comment

Re: Equipment Updates 18
No Nike Huarache Edge batting gloves either, which are bad ***, only the Huarache Pro, which are basically the Trout gloves without camo. No non chrome Franklin CFX either. Two that should be in in place of the Rawlings gloves.Last edited by Williemayshayes00; 03-24-2018, 03:19 PM.Comment
