I started from scratch as a power hitting 3rd baseman and got drafted by the Mets. Spent the first year in AA and crushed it. Made it to the Majors my second year out of spring training and I can not crack the starting lineup. I’m killing it and I was voted as the starting 3rd baseman for the All Star game, but I can’t even start for my own team. This is ridiculous as I lead the team is BA and HR, but I only play like every 5th game or pinch hit. Either the Mets GM is the dumbmest GM ever or he is a genius. Lol, well I guess I’ll keep at it and hopefully crack the starting lineup soon. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I’ve tried to switch positions and everything without any luck. At least the game is fun, but wondering if I should of used my 2017 RTTS guy.

ok i need help with two things:
1)i am a flame thrower archtype left handed pitcher. My 4seam fastball velocity cap is currently 92, but my current velocity is 80. when it comes time for bullpen training it offers training for velocity but next to it is -- even though i havent hit my cap....suggestions?

2) when do i get an option to add a fourth pitch? i have currently completed a full season and i am 68 overall

Have you tried selecting that and seeing if the next time the pitch speed will increase?

2) From what I've seen you need to make sure that you scroll down if given the option because sometimes it's hidden. I've heard it's only offered in the offseason and I've also heard you get the option when you reach the MLB

yes i have selected it and it never increases it. it actually doesnt even acknowledge it if it has (--) next to it. for example, if it reads:

4seam velocity 80 -> -> (--) Current cap 92
and
H/9 65 -> -> 68 Current cap 71

all it will do is show the H/9 increase

Damn, that sucks. Oh, I have an idea. Try this and let me know if it helps increase the pitch speed of your other pitches specifically your off-speed pitches and see if it allows you to increase your other fastball speed then

Are you increasing them or just seeing the option for increasing them?

From what I can see with my closer, I have to keep using not only the fastball lots but also raise the stats and cap for at least your secondary pitch, I am in no way sure of this but I do see the option to raise the 4SFB every now and again but I am also raising the cap on my slider as well as things like Clutch and K which are important, I get the feeling it is all interconnected and you have to raise one up to a point which then frees up something else.

You seem to be confirming my hypothesis! I do believe they are connected if you edit a player in a roster and you leave your secondary pitches too low your pitch speed won't go up.

i have my change up velocity at 75, slider is 72, and fastball velocity is still stuck on 80 with (--) everytime there is an option in bullpen to increase it

When I go into the RTTS batting practice sessions, I am using the All Star batting difficulty so not every pitch is in the strike zone, but the pitchers only ever throw fastballs. Is this because I am still early in my career? As I progress will the pitchers ever thrown breaking balls? It's really the off speed stuff I need to work on not the heat. Yes I know I could go into the main practice area where pitchers throw all sorts of stuff. But I can't use my RTTS player there so I would rather do BP in the RTTS domain.

From what I remember about certain drills, when your in the lower levels of the drill they only throw fastballs

Thats correct. It even states before the drill starts that it is using the lowest rated pitcher on your team and only fastballs will be thrown
