    Is this true?

If I carry over my 2017 franchise to MLBTS 18, will the roster I am currently using get messed up OR is a true carry over?

Any player that is a SDS created player (not a CAP) that isn't associated any longer with the MLBPA or who didn't play in 2017 is likely to not be in '18. Their attributes and stats will be the same but their name will be changed and their likeness altered in some form.

Here is a thread that Showtyme15 does each year that gives a heads up of players who are most likely not to be in '18

Damn, so if I buy MLBTH 18 and carry my MLBTS 17 franchise over, there is potentially players that will be eliminated from my OSFM 2017 roster within my pre-established franchise? That sucks if it's true. Guess I am sticking with MLBTS 2017.

        Yes.

They won't be gone for good, just their name will be changed and their likeness altered a bit.

It isn't ideal but it doesn't take that long to add them back in.

It might seem intimidating and tedious to change the players back to original attributes but actually it’s not that big of a deal when you consider all of the things that DO get carried over (everything).

The only thing that changes is their name and a slight alteration to their likeness (its usually skin tone)

Their ratings remain the same (may be adjusted to incorporate new rating guidelines for new version of game), their stats remain the same, and their roster spot.

Like I said, its not a necessarily tedious task at all renaming the players and altering their skin tone.

The hard part are the free agents where you can't edit unless they are on a team (if I missed how to do this please let me know!). I took screen shots of the positions and free agents before I converted to 17 so I knew who was who such that if I put them onto a club, I would know the editing I needed to do. Sometimes the graphics gets weird, like the year Rafael Soriano came over with a white face and dark arms....AND there was no way to edit his appearance! That CAN happen too. Some players seem to not have as many editing options.

Yeah unfortunately that bug pops up every now and again.

In regards to free agents, I sign them to my team, edit them and then release them. Not the most ideal way of handling it, but it works for me.
