It’s on their player card.
When you scroll over to see the info like on 40 man roster, options left, cleared waivers, etc... it’s in the bottom right hand corner.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
At June 6th in my Yankees franchise, just finished the draft. In early June we find ourselves with a record of 32-28. Not bad but not good enough. We trail the 39-23 Red Sox by 6 in the East and trail Toronto by 0.5 games for second place in the division. 4 games out of the wild card behind Seattle, Angels, and Blue Jays. Not good. Obviously there’s plenty of time left but that’s concerning. This definitely isn’t the same squad that won 107 games in 2018.
Judge, Stanton, and Sanchez have all regressed from 2018 so far, a year where they were all in the MVP Race. Judge is hitting 241 with 14 HR’s. Stanton’s hitting 267 with 18 HR’s. Sanchez is hitting 251 with 13 HR’s. At least Harper has performed as expected hitting 323 with 22 HR’s. With his contract expiring after this season, Didi Gregorius time in NY is likely coming to an end. He’s hitting 217 with 8 HR’s and his ratings are regressing.
Nelson Cruz has been more important then expected hitting 285 with 15 HR’s. Unfortunately regression is starting to hit him hard at 38 years old. He’s on pace to finish with a similar season as last year in Seattle where he hit 290 with 29 HR’s. Wouldn’t be a bad year to end your career with.
Jose Abreu was called back up on 5/17. Abreu wasn’t doing much at AAA either but neither was Voit in the majors so Voit was demoted. Figured it was time for Abreu to sink or swim in the Bronx so we can see what we have in him leading up to the trade deadline. He has woken up now hitting 262 with 8 HR’s.
Now here’s the problem, pitching. Basically every starter except Severino (2.49 ERA) and Montgomery 3.98 ERA) have been problems. After a great 2018 season where he pitched to a 3.13 ERA with a dominant postseasons, Sonny Gray has looked more like the real life Gray with a 5.19 ERA. Tanaka has a 6.31 ERA, may look to trade him in the offseason. The Cole Hamels acquisition before the start of the season hasn’t worked out at all, he has a 6.15 ERA. Luckily it didn’t take much to get him. Hamels is likely gone by August. He’s an expiring contract so can probably just dump him and his 5M salary to a rebuilding club that could use a veteran arm. Could use that money opened up before the offseason.
The bullpen has been a disappointment as well. Kahnle 10.22 ERA, Britton 7.16 ERA, Betances 4.15 ERA, Chapman 4.18 ERA. It’s not all bad news in the bullpen though, Jonathan Holder was recalled on 5/18 after a dominant start at AAA. Warren was sent down. Through 11 innings he has a 0.84 ERA. He’s controlled on the cheap for several years so that would be huge if he can keep it up.
Kevin Siegrist has been huge for us as well, a clutch rule 5 pick. Through 26 innings he has a 1.69 ERA. Unfortunately he’s an expiring contract and will be a FA after this year.
Looking ahead, to the deadline and offseason, most resources will be going towards pitching. I think rolling with the same pitching staff may have been a mistake. 4/5 are guys from the WS winning rotation from last year but perhaps that was a fluke season and a bit of luck. We need the Mets to lose lose lose, which luckily they are typically pretty good at so we can go get DeGrom at the deadline. They are 27-35, 8.5 games out of the division, and 6.5 out of the WC so it looks like they are on their way out of contention. May try for Kyle Barraclough from Miami as well even though he’s having a bad year. Maybe getting away from that dumpster fire will rejuvenate him. Comes with 2 years of control. Might move on him early, Marlins are 17-45 so they are pretty much open for business already.
June should be an important month for us as it includes 7 games against the division leading Red Sox.Comment

Cardinals end negotiations with Phillies over Harper. Turn attention to free agency
The Cardinals debated for several weeks, even going back and forth with the Phillies bouncing offers off of each other. But after weeks of debate and negotiations, the Cardinals have decided to end trade talks with the Phillies for the services of Bryce Harper. When it came down to it, the Cardinals just weren't willing to give up the asking price now, nor did they want to hamper their attempt to sign some of their own upcoming free agents in the next few years. And it should be pointed out the Cardinals still have George Springer as their everyday right fielder. Springer jumped at the opportunity to play for the Cardinals, signing immediately during free agency when the Cards made him an offer.
Now the Cardinals will turn their attention 100% to the free agent market, as well as continue to evaluate their own roster and look to possibly trade Lance Lynn, Jordan Walden, and Stephen Piscotty.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
How does everyone handle spring training, do you sim through it or play those games too? I simmed my first because I knew who was making the roster but this year I have some bullpen spots up for grabs so I'm simming the first four innings and then playing the rest with my bullpen pitching. I was hoping to have made my decision after 10-15 games and then sim to the regular season but I have a lot of guys having good springs and I've created more questions than I've answered with my bullpen competitionComment

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I don't know how many players per team there is, but there are very very few selections in the draft. This offseason there were 4 total. Also the Rule 5 draft is comprised mainly of younger players who aren't/didn't meet potential and some career minor leaguers that teams don't care if they lose.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Cardinals trade Lynn to the Giants for Adam Cimber and Tyler Beede
The question wasn't if would Lance Lynn be traded but when. And the answer is today. The Cardinals and Giants agreed to a deal that sends Lance Lynn to the Giants for RP Adam Cimber and SP Tyler Beede. This trade will save the Cardinals $8M dollars this year in salary and gives them another young arm in both the starting pitching and relief pitching roles. Tyler Beede is 26 years old and has made appearances in the majors posting a career record of 19-17 with a 3.89 ERA. Beede will most likely start the year in Memphis, although the Cardinals have to be careful as Beede is out of the options.
Adam Cimber is 28 years old and was traded earlier this offseason from the Padres to the Giants in Johnny Cueto deal. Cimber now finds himself in St.Louis. He pitched 57 innings for San Diego last year going 8-1 with a 1.42 ERA and a WHIP of 0.93. Cimber will most likely get every opportunity in spring to take over the spot once held by Jordan Walden who is all but certainly on his way out of St.Louis.
Lance Lynn will more than likely become the Giants new ace as they dealt Cueto earlier this offseason.Last edited by countryboy; 10-29-2018, 01:04 PM.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: MLB The Show 18 Franchise Discussion Thread
I thought I settled on my roster to open the 2019 season with, but Nelson Cruz was sitting as a free agent and I don't have any power on my bench except Wilmer Flores so I went ahead and signed him for one year. I was planning on going with a five man bench and a seven man bullpen but now I might do six and six to make room for Cruz. I've got Lagares as my only OF on the bench, d'Arnaud as my backup catcher, Flores, I just signed Wilmer Difo to give me some speed off the bench and I have a rule 5 pick that I really want to keep so I can't really afford to send any of them down. I ended up using a six man bench last year when I was getting my starters consistently going deep in games so that will most likely be what I do. If I don't need my 5th starter the first time through the rotation I might send him to AAA to start the season so I can have the extra bullpen armComment

Cardinals and Jordan Walden part ways
The Cardinals and Jordan Walden have parted ways. The Cardinals granted the 34 year old his outright release after not really finding any trade partners. The Cardinals will be on the hook for part of his contract since he cleared waivers and is now a free agent. The Cardinals weren't interested in bringing Walden back, but when Sam Freeman opted to become a free agent earlier the Cardinals panicked and quickly signed Walden. Now with Freeman re-signed and the Cardinals acquiring Adam Cimber in the Lance Lynn to Giants deal, Walden has once again become expendable. The move will free up roughly $3M for this season as the Cardinals continue to evaluate and organize their roster.
The plan as of now is to start the season with the following bullpen:
Tyler Lyons
Dean Kiekheffer
Sam Freeman
Adam Cimber
John Brebbia
Set Up man
Roberto Osuna
Closer

Cardinals release Aledmys Diaz....claimed by the Nationals
For the 2nd time in a week the Cardinals have granted a player his outright release after not finding a suitable trade partner.
The Cardinals and Aledmys Diaz parted ways yesterday and the 30 year old was quickly claimed by the Nationals.
Diaz was displeased with his bench role last year and wanted a chance to be an everyday player this season. The Cardinals were content with keeping Diaz in his current role, but after signing Kiki Hernandez, Aledmys became expendable.
The Cardinals are expected to start the season with both Hernandez and Marwin Gonzalez as the bench players.
There are 6 weeks left in the offseason, as we await to see if the Cardinals make any more roster moves, and who they sign going forward.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

The Mets broke camp and decided to start the season with a six man bench. Here is the roster breakdown
Starting Lineup
Amed Rosario SS
Brandon Nimmo RF
Yoenis Cespedes LF
Michael Conforto CF
Todd Frazier 3B
Jay Bruce 1B
JT Realmuto C
Jeff McNeil 2B
Bench
Nelson Cruz
Wilmer Flores
Wilmer Difo
Juan Lagares
Travis d'Arnaud
Jorge Polanco (Rule 5)
Starting Rotation
Jacob deGrom
Noah Syndergaard
Steven Matz
Zack Wheeler
Hyun-Jin Ryu
Bullpen
Jason Vargas
Jandel Gustave
Jose Torres (Rule 5)
Seth Lugo
Trevor Rosenthal
Jeurys Familia
Lots of question marks for us coming off a World Series victory. We struggled offensively last year, Nimmo and McNeil are in full time roles now plus we have a new starting catcher in JT Realmuto. The rotation carried us last year and I brought back the same five but Ryu really over achieved so if he comes back down to earth we could be in trouble, we're about a year away from having any viable replacements in our farm system. The bullpen is where I have the most concern. We re-signed Familia to a five year deal after a 53 save season and Rosenthal had a great regular season after I picked him up last year mid year so I brought him back. If I can't get seven innings from my starter things will get tricky though. Lugo had an era over six last year but he had a strong spring so hopefully he turns things around, Vargas was surprisingly effective in relief too. The other two spots went to two of the flamethrowers I've been collecting. Since Torres is a rule 5 pick his job is more secure, Gustave will be on a pretty short leashComment

2019 Mets are 28-16, 1GB of the Nationals in the NL East. Washington took it to New York at Citi Field recently, sweeping a 3-game series. That was rough.
Thankfully, the bats are starting to show signs of life, so hopeful to get some momentum back on our side. Not having Bruce in the lineup (he's got a month left on the 60-day DL) has really hindered the offensive production.Currently Playing:

Cardinals sign Joe Kelly to a one year deal worth $2.7M
The Cardinals have brought Joe Kelly back to St.Louis on a one year deal worth $2.7M. Joe Kelly will most likely start the season in Memphis but will get a chance in Spring Training to earn a spot in the bullpen on the 25 man roster.
Joe Kelly pitched in Baltimore last year and carried a 7+ ERA in an injury riddled season.
The Cardinals are hoping he can bounce back and provide depth for a bullpen that the Cardinals are working to rebuild.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
