I have same tv. Everything looks great on my end. And it did last year too. Did you have any problems last year with HDR?

Since you have the same TV could you PM me all your settings so I can test them on mine?

Does your TV have a settting in the video options to manually enable/disable HDR? Maybe try cycling off and back to on (while keeping HDR on in the game)..see if it triggers it.

Do you run the ps4 thru an AVR?

Does your TV automatically adjust the backlight to max like it should for HDR? Do you have a local dimming setting on tv that should be on medium or high? If you still have '18 can you try that to see if it's better?

I'll look into your TV when I get a chanve...it should work well with that model.

Can you take a screenshot? Normally a hazy washed out look means an HDMI handshake issue. Like it's sending a normal signal to TV and the TV is expanding the range, instead of receiving and playing HDR.

Only HDR setting on my TV is HDR+ which I never turn on. I do have Game Mode turned on though. I do have Smart LED or whatever it is called set to high. My backlight is always maxed out at 20. I bought a brand new 4K compatible HDMI cable when I got the TV and Pro last year. Don't think it's the cable because games look fantastic normally. I also check the TV source when connected to Blu-ray or The Show 18 and it does say HDR next to UHD.

I can post my settings after work today for a better gauge on where I'm at.

Ok that's good so far. Yes keep HDR+ off. For sanity check, try also switching between Game Mode on and off, just to eliminate that issue with The Show.

Try also enabling Dynamic Contrast to Medium and also make sure your color space is Auto.

Aight I'm off to work now

I have toggled Game Mode on and off before and my Color Space is definitely on Auto.

I have also got a Pro and I am only on Full HD 1080p TV. Should I use Balanced or Faster?

I would do Balanced with Supersampling.

You can’t go wrong with faster either.

Would you mind posting your TV calibration settings? It sounds like there's quite a few of us using the Pro on a Samsung KS8000 series TV...

Ok here are my PS4 Pro and Samsung KS8000 settings.

On the Pro all video settings are set to Auto.

                        TV:

                        Game Mode: On

                        Backlight: 20

                        Brightness: 45

                        Contrast: 95

                        Sharpness: 0

                        Color: 50

                        Tint (G/R): 50

                        Apply Picture Settings: All Sources

                        Digital Clean View: Off

                        Auto Motion Plus: Off

                        Smart LED: High

                        Film Mode: Off

                        HDMI UHD Color: On

                        HDMI Black Level: Auto

                        Dynamic Contrast: Off

                        Color Tone: Warm2

                        White Balance 2 Point: R-Gain 9, B-Gain -9

                        Gamma: 0

                        Color Space: Auto

I keep these same settings when I turn on HDR in The Show 18 and the overall picture just looks dull.

I did mess with Dynamic Contrast just now in a day game at SunTrust Park and put it on Medium which did actually brighten it some, but I know that it is best left to off. Not that it matters but I am plugged into HDMI 3 on my TV.

Just not sure. I mean if that is really how HDR is supposed to look turned on that is disappointing.

HDR will generally be darker than what you are used to because it portrays lighting in a more realistic manner.

You’ll know when you have your HDR correct, I promise you will not be disappointed.

Just curious, have you tried a different HDMI slot?

I have not. What are your thoughts on Dynamic Contrast at Medium instead of Off?

Dynamic Contrast on Medium is the one thing that makes HDR on better.

is everyone using 2.0 or 2.1 HDMI cables as well? i have heard that neither the ps4 nor the X will even recognize HDR in any tv or game console at all
