    Re: Dynamic attendance

Also, since we're on topic here, we noticed that there were VERY few Cubs fans at Nationals Park during the playoff game. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but I mean we had to look and look for a Cubs fan. It would be really nice to see more opposing team fans. Maybe I just didn't notice them. I'll look closer the next time I play a game.

Cubs fans usually travel well, especially in Milwaukee.

The reason you may not be encountering it to the level you expect, is that minor league teams follow a very similar attendance pattern. With rare exceptions, minor league teams get little attendance during the weekdays, and spike attendance on the weekends. Pennant races or marquee matchups don't necessarily increase attendance for minor league games like they do for MLB games.

One of the biggest goals for the next iteration of this feature, and what I think you may be referring to, is to create attendance updates based on the RTTS character's milestone or upcoming record achievements. For example, if a player has a hitting streak approaching Joe Dimaggio's, it would make sense to ramp up the attendance as the player approaches the milestone. I would expect a packed house in any stadium if a player is sitting on 54 or 55 game hit streak. Another good example would be MLB players who are making recovery starts at the minor league level. If a star MLB player is injured and is making a recovery start in the minors, those games usually see a spike in attendance. These are factors that I wanted to include this year, but didn't have a chance to get to.

      Hi knich,

The attendance value should always remain at the highest level reached in a game. For example, at Dodger stadium you may start at 55% full but then reach 95% by the 5th inning, then drop back to 35% in a massive blowout. In this case, your franchise attendance should record a value of 95% for that game, since that is the peak number of fans (tickets sold) that attended the game. It sounds like the value is always updating to the latest attendance value instead of the highest value. I'll take a look.
Yes that is exactly what is happening. Thanks.

How was it in the upper deck and bleacher areas? Honestly, I wouldn’t leave early if I had front row seats regardless of the score.

I think it's very cool that the dev came in here to discuss this problem, but really.. Shouldn't this have been tested before release? What I'm sayin' is, there's no guarantee that the fix will make this work correctly.

It's a very involved piece of code. It may not seem it, but it is. It's involved because of what some people in this thread have shown. It's situational.

I don't know. I guess I just haven't accepted the role of being a paying beta tester for version 1.0 of something.

            Re: Dynamic attendance

Is it only visual or does attendance impact the amount of increase or decrease to budget at the end of the season?

There was a time a few versions ago when attendance was dynamic and the official attendance in the game log at the end of the game reflected how many were in the stadium when the game ended. Be careful what you wish for.

I'm assuming that this is not available in Play Now, correct? The several games I've played have not had any noticeable difference in attendance.

Same here, I've yet to try any other modes as I'm practicing and waiting on rosters, but haven't noticed any notable changes to speak of.

And the White Sox! Haha. They only pull about 12,000 when they're good. Hahaha.

                    Forever Chicago's second baseball team.

                        They are working on it.

Hope to have it included in Patch 1.06

Again, I appreciate that SDS has acknowledged this and is going to fix it, but how on earth do things like this slip through? It's a new feature that they promoted and I noticed problems with it within the first five games I played.

It's a bug. They happen. Nobody likes them. We as the user don't like them. SDS as the developer doesn't like them, but unfortunately they happen.

They have acknowledged this issue and are working on fixing it.

What purpose does posing the question you did serve, other than to open the door for insults and criticism of the devs to take place?

Its easy to sit back and say well I caught it why didn't they? What we don't know is what they did catch that we fortunately won't see/have to deal with?

It's a bug that would've easily been seen if the game was thoroughly tested before being released. How can you even argue that?

It's a new feature. It should've been tested extensively. It obviously wasn't.
