For consoles, the PS2 generation (there might have been a few small exceptions that could fit on a memory card).

The catch to that is that if those games had bugs (and btw, they did), you were stuck with the game as is.

Yep, I remember lots of ugly bugs in some games back in the day when there was no such thing as patches and bug fixes. Some bugs could and did ruin fun games for me.

I'll happily take the patching system we have now where there is hope for the game to have all or most issues corrected vs being forced to be stuck with game ruining bugs.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned. But in order to edit Chin Guards in created players they have to be on the MLB roster. Then you can edit chin guards (unless they have a helmet that you can’t put it on)

I’m old I remember it. It wasn’t a good thing thing though. If it was broke at launch it was broke for good. I’ll gladly take patches over that any day

Yes me too. I remember a bug, I'm not sure if it was this game or the old MVP, where lefties couldn't hit homeruns. That was a frustrating bug.

That was MVP '04, and I remember that bug ALL too well.

Patched on the PC, but nothing could be done about the console versions.

And game breaking glitches were never fixed 😉

Yep, like one of the MLB 2k games made it impossible to advance to the playoffs unless there was a tie breaker game somewhere in the league for a division title. Made playing the season pointless. I’ll take patches over something like that any day of the week.

glad to see I''m not being paranoid. That's the first thing I noticed when starting my first game.

No it’s definately slower. Some of the pitches feel like they’re just sitting on a tee.

Yes, but 2005 belongs in the Hall of Fame.

That game was magnificent.

Speaking of which, while I am enjoying the overhauled tag animations, it is inexcusable. A Crime. A darn Shame. A kick in the ol' shorts

That in 2018 we see players pass right through each other with no regards to physics or physical space and matter.

World Series 1995 had player collisions, and the fact that after a sliding out at third base, the runner and the third baseman can just magically absorb each other's physical being, and teleport through one another.

Let alone a center fielder playing in short center and a shortstop in his branch animation for a catch, can pass through one another.

Emotion-filled base hits, and the correct shade of grass in the outfield are great.. but maybe someday, we can focus on the rule of two solid objects not being able to occupy the same space?

Yep, like one of the MLB 2k games made it impossible to advance to the playoffs unless there was a tie breaker game somewhere in the league for a division title. Made playing the season pointless. I’ll take patches over something like that any day of the week.

MLB 2K7 had a glitch where you had to play through the end of the season in order to advance to the post season. I played as the Tigers and won the AL central, but since my last game of the season was at 1:15 ET, I couldn't advance because the west coast teams hadn't played their final games yet, and I couldn't sim them. PAINFUL.

I only played one game after the patch so I may be off on this, but did they nerf power again like last year? Just had a game where I had 8 hits in 7 innings and they were all singles. First time I've done that so far this year.

I had a four homerun game followed by a game were i only scored two and had no extra base hits. I havent noticed anything drastic in terms of hitting, and still seem to be getting some good varied results.

Im with some others on potentially holding off on downloading future patches.

Still cant add chin guard even after bringing them up.
SCEA did respond on this on twitter and said this will be available again after first patch
