Animation That Must Go:
The Pitcher animation where he spins around after getting a strikeout must go! Geez its like the only animation they have for that!

Re: Animation That Must Go:
The one where the outfielder could very easily throw the ball, but instead takes 20 steps to touch the wall, meanwhile Yadier Molina scores from 1st.Would the lady who left her nine kids at Wrigley Field please pick them up immediately? They are beating the Cubs 4-0 in the 7th inning! -
Re: Animation That Must Go:
It's not as prevalent as it was 2-3 years ago but the catcher throwing the ball back to the pitcher and the motion ends mid-throw. Maybe instead have the catcher hand the ball back to the ump or stand up without the half throw. It's a little thing SDS put back in but I am glad most times you see the toss completed.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

The unnecessary crow hop.
Used to be on every user controlled outfield throw. Still rears its ugly head in 18.Comment

This is why we call him "Yadi", because that's all we get out before he zips around the bases."The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: Animation That Must Go:
When the pinch hitter is walking to the plate, looks like it was leftover from ps2 days where characters had about 2 frames of animation.
I also hate how they talk up all these new animations and the emotion, i will start to see some play out then it cuts away before it is finished so the next pitch can be thrown.Comment

Re: Animation That Must Go:
the animation of the pitcher giving the fist pump to himself after the third out of a tough inning, usually happens with men on base. Like he accomplished some fantastic feat. Not even realizing the fact he just gave up 8 runs. He should go to the dugout with his head down!
and as always, the constant classless on base celebrationsComment

Re: Animation That Must Go:
Home team player getting a double in the 1st innings and celebrating like it is the world series game 7 in the 9th innings.
I think that is the biggest issue with the animations all the games feel the same. where as the BIG celebration stuff should be used for the playoffs.Comment

I like the the big celebrations, just need to be saved for the right situations.
Edit: I like those end game celebrations.
I saw a dugout scene after springer hit his 100th hr against me, that was a good scene.Last edited by dazzelle; 04-19-2018, 11:16 PM.Comment

Re: Animation That Must Go:
Amount of animations increase each year! I am definitely looking for them....
Base Running
• Runner Lead Off
• Runner Lean Back Towards Bag (Thats for Softball!)
• Running back to the bag after each play especially when on second base (Oh the pain can't be expressed in a post) over a 162 game season painful! Just feels like it was programed wrong after all the iterations.
• Dynamic base running animations for each runner on base (Game would go from Stale to Active and Engaging instantly!)
• General Running Transitions Running Style 1,2,3,4 this should be double if not tripled by now.
Runs Scored
• Runner rubbing the top of his helmet when crossing home plate! Goodness (Tears in my eyes at this point! Viewed since MLB 14,15,16,17,18) If a high five interaction was patched in and tweeted. I would download the patch. I thought for sure this was not going to be present in MLB 18 glad I did not bet on it!
• 4 home plate slides (Watch a MLB game)
• Stretch steps before going into a dive at home plate (Desperately needs some variation! variation is key!)
Defense
• Defensive Player animations before pitch (Same since MLB 14,15,16,17,18)
• Defensive Player animations ready set (Same since MLB 14,15,16,17,18)
• More foot planting and less floating throws
• Jump Throw (Jeter would not be happy)
• Lazy arm after jump throw (Everyone has seen this one at some point)
• Barrel roll when player from first is sliding into second to interrupt double play
How much longer can or will we wait is the question!Last edited by jada855; 04-21-2018, 02:17 PM.Proud member of the 0.04%Comment

This! So much, this!
I mentioned this in a thread about batting and pitching animations earlier. I mentioned it last year also. It's absolutely horrible. It's just way too much.Comment

That's easy, the pitchers coming in and dropping their mitt as they get to the mound.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
