Yeah definitely the pitcher dropping the glove. It almost never happens IRL! The coach clapping during the homerun trot every single time! They need to rework the homerun trot. More variety.

      Re: Animation That Must Go:

I'm really tired of seeing 2 certain animations that have got to go, especially since its rarely seen in real life, yet plays almost constantly in the game.

The first animation is when the batter swings and misses in which he would then proceed to take his bat, flip it in the air and catches it with one hand. I see that animation far too often and is rarely done in real life.

The second animation is when the batter steps into the box and has his back arm up showing the stop or timeout sign to the ump as he digs his cleats into the dirt. You rarely if ever see batters prep like that anymore.

There is a way around it, go in and change their "missed swing" animation.

Give them one of those generic HR celebrations. You'll get variety then.

Of course, you might not like them. Some of them are pretty over the top lol

I hate seeing threads about removing animations, simply because their is someone buying the game for the first time or the first time in a long time. Just because we purchase it every year we tend to think it's only about us, and it's not.

Perhaps make it about animation better, contextual, situational or adding an animation that fits the situation so you have less of an opportunity seeing the same ones over and over.

Just think of it this way adding contextual/situational animations will subtract to the amount of times you see the same stuff over and over.

They need to show more player in the dugout high fiving after a HR. I've yet to see one this year. They show that more in a real broadcast than coaches clapping. I agree. The whole HR trot needs to be gutted and reworked. Starting with the ability to turn off the HR cam

The catcher slide on a loose ball pickup. It doesn't need to be removed, but just put in a few different animations for it. They did tone down the amount of times that it occurs, but still.

Also, too many times the catcher turns his back to the bases and field to catch an easy pop-up. If a catcher has time and can turn his body to make a catch while facing the field of play he will, in real life. In this game 99% of the time the catcher faces the stands, even on pop-ups right near home plate. That means he cannot see the runners and is unrealistic.

The slow lazy scoop tag, like the man covering the bag had a baby bird land on his glove.

I thought this kind of stuff was supposed to be gone? Honestly, I think the thing I've been the least impressed with this year is the new tagging system. I'm really not seeing any difference from last year.

This isn't even an "I'm the only victim" thing either, it seems just as bad for the CPU.

Pre-Game with the star from each team standing back to back waving their bats. Ugh, so awful, overused and just plain unrealistic.

Agree 100%. The tagging system in my opinion hasn't really changed at all. It's still absolutely atrocious. Every single year the developers blow smoke up our rears in an attempt to get more sales and every single year, the animations are generally the same and patches eventually make the gameplay the same. Very frustrating.

Probably the most frustrating play/bug. And it's happened in every version of the game for years now.

The tagging system is always going to be limited to the sliding/running animation systems. It all needs to be retooled and rebuilt.

There is no reason why fielding cannot have an option to press a button to catch the ball and then swipe the right stick to apply a certain tag. Or at least let us swipe the tag with a right stick motion.

I think we need to tread carefully. I could see SDS reading this thread and completely wiping out 80% of the animations and adding none for next year. Are some of the animations wonky and out of place, sure. But I would sure as heck have a lot of animations than none at all.
